yoga of knowledge Cause and Effect: Gyana Yoga - Path of Knowledge

Gyana Yoga is the spiritual path of 'knowledge'. It aims at realising the Supreme Spirit through deep enquiry and constant contemplation upon the eternal truths. In Gyana Yoga, you will endeavour to achieve enlightenment through the study of sacred books of wisdom and truth.

Normally, people who are very well versed in religious and other scriptures (Scriptural scholars) are considered 'gyaan yogis'. But it is important to note that if knowledge is not balanced with devotion to God, then it will carry the danger of developing arrogance and one-sidedness.

Love sweetens our understanding just as knowledge sharpens and directs our love. Love that is uncontrolled by knowledge can be much like a hose that is turned on and then left without a guiding hand; it neighs and just gushes forth making it impossible to use it effectively.

yoga of knowledge Cause and Effect: Social Studies Dictionary - Cause-and-Effect Hypotheses

Definition and meaning of Cause-and-Effect Hypotheses

Cause-and-Effect Hypotheses - [Research Methods]

An hypothesis is an explanation or a theory which can be tested by further investigation. It derives from comprehending a relationship between a cause and an effect and developing a theory linking the two. Researchers develop hypotheses from these "best-guess theories," and base their ideas on observed data with the supposition that the informed "guess" (hypothesis) will stand up to further analysis based on additional data. Hypotheses can also be generated by predicting a different result emanating from some type of change (intervention) in the input (stimulus), which would be phrased as an "if-then. . . " statement. The Russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov tested his theory that a repeated stimulation or conditioning could cause a specific response and won the Nobel prize in 1904 for his work. B. F. Skinner, an American psychologist, expanded on the theory by researching human behavior and the relationship of positive reinforcement to human behavior. Systems of controlled reward and punishment developed from Skinner's cause-and-effect hypothesis.

Jnana yoga is the yoga of knowledge - not knowledge in the intellectual sense-but the knowledge of Brahman and Atman and the realization of their unity. The psychology and philosophy of yoga can assist the mother to understand the experiences she is going through and to live them more fully. yoga of knowledge Cause and Effect: Karma Yoga - Path of Action

"As you sow, so shall you reap" is an old and true saying. It points out the law of cause and effect which forms one of the fundamental laws of the Universe."

Karma Yoga is the path of detached action and selfless service. At this point, you may ask, how could action be detached if a goal or mission is to be accomplished!

Now, the secret of right activity is to do the action with full dedication and enthusiasm in the correct manner and mode of operation but you need not anticipate or be anxious about the consequences or result of this action.

yoga of knowledge Cause and Effect: The Importance Of Kundalini Yoga

In Kundalini Yoga the creating and sustaining Sakti of the whole body is actually and truly united with Lord Siva. The Yogi goads Her to introduce him to Her Lord. The rousing of Kundalini Sakti and Her Union with Lord Siva effects the state of Samadhi (Ecstatic union) and spiritual Anubhava (experience). It is She who gives Knowledge or Jnana, for She is Herself That. Kundalini Herself, when awakened by the Yogins, achieves for them the Jnana (illumination).

yoga of knowledge Cause and Effect: The Path of Work - Karma Yoga

Karma yoga is the yoga of action or work; specifically, karma yoga is the path of dedicated work: renouncing the results of our actions as a spiritual offering rather than hoarding the results for ourselves.

Karma is both action and the result of action. What we experience today is the result of our karma--both good and bad--created by our previous actions. This chain of cause and effect that we ourselves have created can be snapped by karma yoga: fighting fire with fire, we use the sword of karma yoga to stop the chain reaction of cause and effect.

yoga of knowledge Cause and Effect: Ramakrishna's Steps To Self Knowledge

Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa's advice to house-holders is: "A little spiritual discipline is necessary in order to know what lies within. The painter first draws the outlines and then fills in the details and colours at leisure. The moulder first makes the image out of clay, then plasters it, gives it a coat of whitewash, and last of all, paints it with a brush. All these steps must be undertaken successively." This is Ramakrishna's first 'commandment'.

yoga of knowledge Cause and Effect: Serve, Love, Meditate, Realize - The Inner Teachings of Yoga

The word "yoga" often brings to mind a classroom of students attired in exercise clothing attempting to stretch their bodies into different postures. A more traditional yoga class will even include instruction in breathing techniques, concentration, meditation, and positive thinking. In the media today, yoga is often associated with health benefits such as stress reduction, lower blood pressure, and an overall decrease in illness and hospitalization rates. This is the Western idea of yoga. If we look to the Eastern approach, where yoga is a part of the great Hindu and Buddhist traditions, we find that yoga is all of these things but much, much more as well.

yoga of knowledge Cause and Effect: Hindu Philosophy - The Yoga

The word Yoga comes from the root Yuj which means to join. Yoga is restraint of the activities of the mind, and is the union of the individual soul with the Supreme Soul.

Hiranyagarbha is the founder of the Yoga system. The Yoga founded by Patanjali Maharshi is a branch or supplement of the Sankhya. It has its own charm for students of a mystic temperament and of a contemplative type. It claims greater orthodoxy than the Sankhya proper by directly acknowledging the existence of a Supreme Being (Isvara).
