| | | | | | Yoga Kriya: Attain Peace and Joy
We are all subject to conflict and pain because people believe in different things - what is real for some is unreal for others. Naturally, conflict cannot be avoided. People might be able to avoid conflict for some time, but some day they will fight. When each believes that only his way is right, people are bound to fight. Though all religions started as an instrument to find the inward path, over time, they have undergone many changes and become different sets of beliefs. Though all religions speak of the value of human life, for the sake of the same religions, today people are willing to take each other'slives. This is because people believe in something which is not yet a reality for them.

| | | | Yoga Kriya: The Meaning of
YogaWhile in recent years
the word "yoga" has been heard more in gyms than in religious
discourse, "yoga" in its original sense has little to do with
exercise. "Yoga" comes from the Sanskrit verb yuj, to yoke or
unite. The goal of yoga is to unite oneself with God; the practice of yoga is
the path we take to accomplish this.

Alternative
Health Dictionary on Kriya Yoga
Kriya Yoga (Kriya): Ancient yogic method rediscovered, renamed, expounded, and revived by Babaji, the guru of Lahiri Mahasaya. Lahiri Mahasaya popularized it in modern India, and Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952) advanced it in the United States. Kriya theory posits apana (eliminating current), prana (the life force), an omniscient spiritual eye, and the transmutation of oxygen atoms into life current.

| | | | Yoga Kriya: An Introduction to Hindu WorshipThere is no
reference to worship of idols in the Vedas. The Puranas and the Agamas give
descriptions of idol-worship both in the houses and in the temples. Idol-worship
is not peculiar to Hinduism. Christians worship the Cross. They have the image
of the Cross in their mind. The Mohammedans keep the image of the Kaba stone
when they kneel and do prayers. The people of the whole world, save a few Yogis
and Vedantins, are all worshippers of idols. They keep some image or the other
in the mind.
The mental image
also is a form of idol. The difference is not one of kind, but only one of
degree. All worshippers, however intellectual they may be, generate a form in the
mind and make the mind dwell on that image.

| | | | | Yoga Kriya: Lasting Happiness Through Bhakti Yoga
To attain jitendriyata is to achieve full control over
ones senses. This leads to what is called God-realisation. In this controlled
state all pain and suffering cease permanently.
There are different paths to achieve this height: Gyan yoga,
karma yoga, bhakti yoga, raja yoga, hatha yoga, swara yoga, nada yoga, astanga
yoga; all of these lead to the same goal of achieving communion with God. The
shortest and most suitable path ordained in this Kali Yuga is bhakti yoga. Read more here: » Bhakti Yoga: Lasting Happiness Through Bhakti Yoga |

| | | | Yoga Kriya: A Tale of Two Yogis - Yogananda and Babaji
Babaji's disciples think of him as the incarnation of Lord Shiva, and so believe that he is present everywhere. Babaji once told his disciples of the Creator: ''He is deathless. He can do whatever He wills. The whole universe is an expanded bubble ready to burst before Him.'' If Patanjali, who wrote the Yoga Sutra nearly 2,005 years ago, was instrumental in defining the principles of yoga in its different forms, Paramhansa Yogananda played a major role in popularising those principles worldwide.
