Yoga: The scientific process of soul culture and the royal path to
self-realization
The fundamental thesis of Kriya Yoga is
that we are a miniature version of the whole cosmos, a microcosm - an evolving
universe within the macrocosmic world. The all-pervading supreme creator is
hiding within us and activating every action through the breath - hence the
name kriya; any work "kri," is being done by the power of the
indwelling soul "ya." The various cosmic forces controlling ether,
air, fire, water, and earth also control the kinds of work, namely, religious
activities, relationship, food, progeny, and earning money performed by the
human body. Yoga is the means of conjoining this correspondence between
microcosm and macrocosm - realizing the truth behind the union of individual
self and the Supreme Self.

Yoga An Enlightening ExperienceKriya Yoga An Enlightening Experience
It all began when a
friend of mine gave me a copy of Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa
Yogananda. I read the entire book from cover to cover the first night. I was so
fascinated by Yogananda's description of Miracles and higher states of
consciousness he experienced in India and in the United States after he
traveled over here that I couldn't put the book down. The next week I left for
California with my last paycheck in my pocket. I drove all the way to
Yogananda's Hermitage/Retreat in Encinitas, California. I was a printing press
operator at the time and it just so happened they needed a printer at SRF. What
luck! It all seemed predestined.

The Kriya Path is: Attaining eternal
Tranquility by practice of Pranayam and continuing meditations on the Formless,
i.e. Tranquility.
Increasing the practice of Kriya, doing all
works without expectations for the results thereof, the path aims at achieving
Tranquility, observing everything which is revealed in Yonimudra (Beatific
Inner Revelation Kriya), and terminating all desired expectations, renouncing
every desire before it originates, being freed from all thoughts.

 | | | Yoga Kriya: The Breath of God Is Our Breath of LifeKriya Yoga: The Breath of God Is Our Breath of Life
Kriya Yoga gives extreme importance to the breath. It teaches that
breath control is self control, breath mastery is self mastery, it is
deathlessness. If you take a very short breath and seek God in the fontanel and
the pituitary, you will attain calmness and God realization. The Bhagavad Gita,
verse 5:27, mentions this short breath: "We are to fix our attention in
the pituitary, take a very short breath and touch Him in the pituitary and in
the fontanel." The breath must be so short that if you place your finger
in front of your nose, the outgoing breath will not touch the finger.

 | | | Yoga Kriya: From The Ridiculous To the Sublime
What is so special about Kriya yoga? It expands your consciousness; it enables you to move up from the ridiculous to the sublime - from say, matters of state, politics and (Cauvery) disputes to a deeper understanding of nature of the Self. I got this divine intuition some days ago which prompted me to travel to Babaji's cave in Uttaranchal - he used to meditate there. I've been initiated into practising Kriya yoga through divine dispensation. I'd been through hardly a year's basic training before my intuition took me to Babaji's cave...

 | | | Yoga Kriya: Yoga
Sadhanas for Kundalini AwakeningOne should become perfectly desireless and
should be full of Vairagya before attempting to awaken Kundalini. It can be
awakened only when a man rises above Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Mada and other impurities. Kundalini
can be awakened through rising above desires of the senses. The Yogi, who has
got a pure heart and a mind free from passions and desires will be benefited by
awakening Kundalini. If a man with a lot of impurities in the mind awakens the
Sakti by sheer force through Asanas, Pranayamas and Mudras, he will break his
legs and stumble down.

Yoga" by Sri Swami Sivananda

 | | | Yoga Kriya: Hindu Philosophy - The YogaThe word Yoga
comes from the root Yuj
which means to join.
Yoga is restraint of the activities of the mind, and is the union of the
individual soul with the Supreme Soul.
Hiranyagarbha is
the founder of the Yoga system. The Yoga founded by Patanjali Maharshi is a
branch or supplement of the Sankhya. It has its own charm for students of a
mystic temperament and of a contemplative type. It claims greater orthodoxy
than the Sankhya proper by directly acknowledging the existence of a Supreme
Being (Isvara).

Awakening
Kundalini
awakening or pranic awakening and its cross-tradition similars-the spontaneous
spinal rockings known in Judaism as davening and in
Sufisim as zikr; the "taken-over"
gyrations of gospel "holy ghost" shaking and dancing and
charismatic/pentacostal "mani-festations"; the Dionysian
"revel"; QuakerismÕs and Shakerism's autonomic quaking and shaking;
Tai Chi guided by chi itself; the shamanic trance-dance;
BuddhismÕs and Raja-YogaÕs effortless "straight back" (uju-kaya)
meditation; the yogically derived ecstatic belly-dance and Flamenco; and even
the full-bodied, spontaneous Reichian "reflex"-literally embody the
spiritual path.
