PAGAN REDE, THE: This is the basic tenet of witchcraft. "As ye harm none, do what thou will." The rede prohibits Pagans from doing any living creature harm, or from violating ones free will. It's origin is unknown.  See also Witches Rede, The Law, The Law of The Cymry, etc.

PAGAN WAY: an organization of Neo-Pagans started in the late sixties and early seventies. Many current Wiccan and Pagan organizations owe their existence to the work done by Ed Fitch and others.

WITCHCRAFT: The craft, or magickal arts and practices, of witches; as with witch, and Witch, the lower-case or upper-case letter indicates witchcraft as a practice outside of (lower-case), or as an intrinsic part of (upper-case), a religious belief or practice.

WICCA - the name most modern day Witches use for the Craft. It is, in actuality, the Old English word for male witch, the femminine being wicce. The Old English word, Wiccain meant to bend or to shape. This is the root word from which we get wicker.

COWAN: A non-Witch. Formerly used in a very derogatory manner. Still used in Masonic ritual to indicate the non-initiate and/or pretender to "real craft". Not often used today among most Witches.

MARK OF CAIN: The invisible, numinous mark usually bestowed upon initiation that marks and denotes that one is of the Old Craft Persuasion.

ARCANA: 

1) Secret knowledge. 

2)  used to denote a classification of the cards in a TAROT deck of cards. The Major Arcana being the "trumps" numbered from 0 to 21, the Minor Arcana being the 56 "court" cards.

AROMATHERAPY: 

1) use of various flower, herb, oil and incense fragrances and smells.   

2) HOLISTIC AROMA: uses massage and smell. 

3) MAGICKAL AROMA: uses smell and visualization.

ASPECTS: qualities or characteristics of something or Diety, etc. Ex.: Luna is an aspect of the Moon Goddess. Orion is an aspect of the antlered or Horned God.

ASPECTING: when a person during a ritual or magickal exercise, manifests ASPECTS of a God, dess, with, in themselves.

ASPERGER: a bundle of fresh herbs or a perforated object, used for purificatory purposes to sprinkle water during or proceeding ritual.

ANAPHRODISIAC: a substance, such as camphor, that reduces sexual desires.
