Questions
guide us in all that we do. Some questions we ask to ourselves, some to others.
We walk into a room and think or ask, "What's going on here?" We hear
the telephone ring and wonder, "Who's that?" We see a friend and ask,
usually quite automatically, "How are you?" Not every question has a
question mark at the end. For example, "I wonder if I'll have trouble
falling to sleep tonight." Or, "Let's see if there are any fresh
vegetables that look good at the supermarket today." These are examples of
rather neutral questions, that is, those that are not empowering or
disempowering. They simply guide us in our observations.

| | | | | | Want: The Truth Beyond Success and Failure
It does not matter to a man of awareness whether he is successful or unsuccessful, well-known or absolutely unknown, powerful or just a nobody. To a man of awareness, these dualities don't matter at all, because awareness is the greatest treasure. When you have it, you don't want anything else. You don't want to become the president or prime minister of a country. Those who pursue power suffer even in success - they live in the eternal fear that they might lose it. At first they suffered because they were not successful; now after being successful, too, they are suffering because of a feeling of insecurity.

| | | | Want: Selfhisness
is a good thing I have often heard people express a desire to become more sensitive and
compassionate, while confessing that they probably loved themselves too much to
succeed in that ambition. In all the cases I have observed, the problem was
exactly the reverse. It is because we do not love ourselves enough that our
relationships become problematic. Compassion and sensitivity to others are
direct by-products of self-love.

| | | | Want: The
Way of PainThe Way
of Pain
The Sanskrit
word saha means "to endure, to go patiently through
hardships without rebelling."1 The process
of disillusionment is an unquestionably painful process at times. Genuine
spiritual life has never been popular, and never will be, because most people
are unwilling to open to and accept pain.

| | | | Want: Jesus Through Buddhist EyesChrist and Budda: Jesus Through Buddhist
Eyes
His
Holiness, the Dalai Lama, speaking to a capacity audience in the Albert Hall in
1984 united his listeners instantly with one simple statement: "All beings
want to be happy; they want to avoid pain and suffering." I was impressed
at how he was able to touch what we share as human beings. He affirmed our
common humanity, without in any way dismissing the obvious differences.
When invited to look at
'Jesus through Buddhist eyes', I had imagined that I would use a 'compare and
contrast' approach, rather like a school essay. I was brought us as a Christian
and turned to Buddhism in my early thirties, so of course I have ideas about
both traditions: the one I grew up in and turned aside from, and the one I
adopted and continue to practise within. But after re-reading some of the
gospel stories, I would like to meet Jesus again with fresh eyes, and to
examine the extent to which he and the Buddha were in fact offering the same
guidance, even though the traditions of Christianity and Buddhism can appear in
the surface to be rather different.

Dealing With Negative Ego Neighbors And PeopleThe
focus of this article is how to effectively deal with people and neighbors who
are dominated by the negative ego.
To
begin, it must be understood that when life is looked at from the perspective
of the soul, everything is seen as a lesson, challenge and spiritual test.
Every interaction is seen as an opportunity to respond from a Christ
Consciousness attitude rather then a negative ego attitude, to respond from
unconditional love, rather than fear and attack, to choose oneness with God
rather than separation from God, to choose forgiveness instead of grudges.

| | | | Want: Resist NoThing Ð About the Power of Thoughts As thoughts
are energetic electrical currents coming into the brain, resisting thoughts
means we are opposing the natural flow of electrical impulses through our
brains. Since resistance is opposition and opposition is the condition of being
in conflict or being antagonistic toward, we are creating conflict within
ourselves when we resist our naturally occurring thoughts. We are placing our
thoughts opposite to or in contrast with our selves. We make our thoughts into
an obstacle, an enemy.

| | | | Want: Immortal Love is Within Reach
What is the purpose of life? What do we want? Some say the purpose of life is to ensure that one doesn't come back to this planet - because it is bereft of love. When love is there, it is painful. By taking a multilateral view of life, one can begin to see the purpose of life from all angles. Then we come to realise that we want a love that doesn't die out, a love that doesn't cause pain, a love that grows and stands forever.

| | | | Want: How to Manage Your Relationships
When you live in this world, there are various types of complex interactions happening. As your field of play increases, the complexity of interaction also goes on increasing. If you're just sitting in a cubicle, working on your computer with only one other person, you need only a little understanding; but if you're managing a thousand people, you need a vast understanding of everybody.

| | | | Want: Secret of Success: Team Spirit
Success can be external or internal. Externally, it is the measure of a job well done and the accompanying recognition from society. Internally, it is a feeling of achievement, satisfaction and fullness which comes on the completion of a task or the fulfilment of a desire. What is a true measure of success, the outer accolades or the inner joy and peace?

| | | | Want: Waging Peace Through Constructive Images
Recently, this sentence stopped me short: "Before we can live in peace, we have to be able to imagine, to image peace." On similar lines, sculptor and activist Dana Toomey writes of how once, reading the newspaper, she counted 50 different kinds of war around the globe. Why is it when most of us want peace, war is so prevalent, she wondered. Trying to envision a new culture without war, she asked herself - since humanity has never experienced life without violence, what would peace be like? How would we get the things we want? Who would be our heroes? Is anyone or anything pointing the way?

About fear and its consequences In essence,
fear is caused by a sense of separation from the universal life and loving
spirit in which all of physical and nonphysical manifestation is One. There are
no exceptions to this. Learn to take note when you are feeling separate,
whether from other people, nature, God or spirit. To be free of fear, you will
need to be willing to allow different beliefs and concepts into your mind.

| | | | | Want: Loving
OurselvesMost of us on our healing path have become
very familiar with the admonition to "love ourselves." We may be
clear that our purpose is to bring more love into the world. Since how we
perceive and relate to "the world" is always a mirror of how we
perceive and relate to ourselves, our goal is really to bring more love into
ourselves. It is important to understand that, in terms of cause and effect, the
external world is a reflection (or an "effect") of our "internal
world: (our self), which is the opposite of how we naturally perceive things to
be.

ThoughtsOur past thoughts have created our current reality, and we
are each creating our futures with the thoughts we think right now, in the
present moment. Michael Curley expands upon this philosophy and tell us more
about the power of our thoughts to bring about change in our own lives and on a
global, even cosmic level.

| | | | Want: Beyond The 50/50 RelationshipBeyond
The 50/50 Relationship
Many
people today believe in a myth that says intimate happiness is attained through
a 50/50 ideal of equality based on a notion of "sameness" between men
and women. Belief in this myth of the 50/50 Relationship is one of the major
reasons that men and women have been unable to cultivate and deepen sexual,
emotional, and spiritual union in intimacy. As many of us have discovered, when
we focus on dividing the pie equally, our intimate embrace often becomes more
like a business handshake than a delicious swoon that dissolves two lovers into
a single heart of desire.

| | | | Want: First
Awareness, Then FreedomIf you
want to be truly free, you will have to be aware. One kind of awareness is when
you are consciously making the effort to be aware of everything that you are
doing. But there is another kind of awareness that is more mysterious. And you
will begin to discover this mysterious awareness as you surrender more and more
to your own desire to be free.
If we
are true to the desire to be free, we will find that we always are paying
attention, even at times when, in our conscious experience, it appears to us
that we are not.

| | | | Want: The New Children Have Arrived - Caring For Your Indigo Child
Many have asked; what or who are these Indigo Children and how can I help my child, my grandchild, or the student in my class who seems to be one? Indigo Children are head strong and heart smart. They do not want to do it your way, and often have creative or non- conformist ways of doing things. Many are labeled ADD/ ADHD because of their tendency for activity, inattention and doing things fast. Some have past life recall, trouble sleeping, night terrors, and can "see" or hear things at home especially at night. They have extreme emotional, physical, and spiritual sensitivities that make them "fussy" eaters, "different" from other kids in their class and avoidant of loud noise, people's energy, and touch sensitive. Some days they will be happy, and then, after being around other children, they can have a huge emotional meltdown, angry outburst, or tantrum.
