Veil: Encyclopedia - Veil of perception

In philosophy, the veil of perception is a term used by 18th century philosopher John Locke to describe how we're trapped into seeing the world through our perceptions, and not as it really is. Instead of our "local perception", we would need an objective, or "God's eye view" of the world to be able to perceive reality without the added influence of our perceptual faculties. The veil of perception describes a barrier that prevents first-hand knowledge of anything beyond it. The "veil" exists between the mind and the exis

Veil: Poetry For and About Indigos - Peek behind the Veil

Peek Behind The Veil

Where is that place; without time or space?

Is the veil so strong as to completely erase?

My recollection comes from out of the blue;

then a force says, "dismiss it" so that's what I do.

The force that's mundane drives me insane;

insanity spreads, like a disease with no name.

What would happen if the world lifted the veil?

The force would be gone, the disease would pale.

To get rid of the force; don't discard the peek;

For each time you seek, so shall you reap.

Wisdom is contagious, it spreads like insanity;

seeking breeds wisdom, wisdom breeds philanthropy.

To lift your own veil, all you have to do;

is know that wisdom and truth, lies inside of you.

Carry this belief in your heart; wear it on your sleeve;

then the veil will be gone, and the world will believe.

Veil: Importance Of Pranayama

Tamas and Rajas constitute the covering or veil. This veil is removed by the practice of Pranayama. After the veil is removed, the real nature of the soul is realised. The Chitta is by itself made up of Sattvic particles, but it is enveloped by Rajas and Tamas, just as the fire is enveloped by smoke. There is no purificatory action greater than Pranayama. Pranayama gives purity, and the light of knowledge shines.

Excerpt from the book Kundalini Yoga by Sri Swami Sivananda.

According to extra-biblical sources Veronica from Jerusalem encountered Jesus on the way to Calvary. Veil: Encyclopedia - Gnostic Mass

Aleister Crowley wrote The Gnostic Mass—technically called Liber XV or "Book 15"—in 1913 while travelling in Moscow. In many ways it is similar in structure to the Mass of the Roman Catholic Church. However, the comparison ends there, as the Gnostic Mass is a celebration of the principles of Thelema. The ceremony calls for five officers: a priest, a priestess, a deacon, and two acolytes, called “children”. The end of the ritual culminates in the consumation of the eucharist, which is a glass of wine and the host, called a Cake of Light, after which the congregant proclaims ...
