Five Turbidities (Corruptions, Defilements, Depravities, Filths, Impurities) They are. the defilement of views, when incorrect, perverse thoughts and ideas are predominant; the defilement of passions, when all kinds of transgressions are exalted; the defilement of the human condition, when people are usually dissatisfied and unhappy; the defilement of the life-span, when the human life-span as a whole decreases; .the defilement of the world-age, when war and natural disasters are rife. These conditions, viewed from a Buddhist angle, however, can constitute aids to Enlightenment, as they may spur practitioners to more earnest cultivation.

There are several practical ways of quantifying cloudiness in water, the most direct being some measure of attenuation (that is, reduction in strength) of light as it passes through a sample column of water. The now little-used Jackson Candle method (units: Jackson Turbidity Unit or JTU) is essentially the inverse measure of the length of a column of water needed to completely obscure a candle flame viewed through it. The more water needed (the longer the water column), the clearer the water

Andarah (possibly Sanskrit andhakara darkness, blindness from andha blind, dark, turbid from the verbal root andh to make blind + kara making from the verbal root kri to do, make; or possibly Sanskrit antarala midway, intermediate space from antar internal, intermediate + ala probably for alaya dwelling, asylum)

Possibly darkness or intermediate space; used in The Mahatma Letters: "(remember the Hindu allegory of the Fallen Devas hurled by Siva into Andarah who are allowed by Parabrahm to consider it as an intermediate state where they may prepare themselves by a series of rebirths in that sphere for a higher state -- a new regeneration) . . ." * Encyclopedia - Automated analyser

An automated analyser is a laboratory machine designed to measure different chemicals in a number of biological samples quickly, with minimal human assistance. The chemicals and other qualities of blood and other fluid measured may be useful in the diagnosis of disease. Different methods of putting samples through have been invented, but usually involve placing test tubes of sample into racks, which can be moved along a track, or circular carousels that rotate to make the sample available. To protect the health and safety of laboratory staff many analysers feature closed tube sam ... Including:

* Encyclopedia - Abyssal plain

Abyssal plains are flat or very gently sloping areas of the deep ocean basin floor. They are among the Earth's flattest and smoothest regions and the least explored. Abyssal plains cover approximately 40% of the ocean floor and reach depths between 2,200 and 5,500 m (7,200 and 18,000 ft). They generally lie between the foot of a continental rise and a mid-oceanic ridge. The abyssal plain is formed when mantle reaches the surface at mid-ocean ridges and forms new oceanic crust. This new oceanic crust has a rugged topography and ... Including:

* Encyclopedia II - Automated analyser - Immuno-based analysers

Because many substances (such as hormones or drugs) have no colour, and cannot cause another substance to change colour, antibodies must be used to detect them. The concentration of these compounds is often too low to cause a measurable increase in turbidity when bound to antibody, so other, more specialised, methods must be used. Examples of these analysers include: DPC IMMULITE Abbott Axsym Elecsys ACS-180 Abbott TDx

The complexity of water quality as a subject is reflected in the many types of measurements of water quality. These measurements include (from simple and basic to more complex): Conductivity (also see salinity) Dissolved Oxygen (DO) pH Color of water Taste and odour Turbidity Total suspended solids (TSS) Chemical oxygen demand (COD) Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) Fecal coliform bacteria (e.g. Escherichia coli) Nutrients (fertilizers ...

* Encyclopedia II - Lake - How lakes disappear

A lake may be infilled with deposited sediment, and gradually, the lake becomes a wetland, such as a swamp or marsh. An important difference exists between lowland and highland lakes: lowland lakes are more placid, are less rocky/more sedimentary, have a less sloping bottom, and generally contain more plant life. Large water plants (typically reeds) accelerate this closing process significantly because they trap sediment. Turbid lakes, and lakes with much plant-eating fish, tend to disappear slower. A "disappearing" lake (barely noticeable o ...

SALIVARY GLAND PATHOLOGIES

The salivary glands, major and minor, comprise a complex anatomic and physiologic organ system producing enzyme, lubrication, mixing agent and immune factors. The salivary glands respond to physical (food and drink) and emotional (flight, exhilaration and exhaustion) stimuli. They may fall prey to a host of pathologic conditions, including infection, calculus, immune disorders, hypertrophy and atrophy, systemic diseases and neoplasms, both benign and malignant.

Earthern and Pot Culture Method to Check the Stability of Marine Azotobacter in Soil

In this study totally 100 samples were collected from the region of Palk Bay (thondi) at the death of 1 – 2m at the interval of 20days. At each time 10 – 15 marine and sediment samples were collected. Out of 70 marine water sample, all the samples showed the presence of Azotobacter, but only 23 marine sediment showed the presence of Azotobacter when grown on selective medium. Pot culture experiments were carried out, to determine the N2 fixing ability of marine Azotobacter in garden soil by assess...

Koi Food Secrets to Raising Quality Koi

The Japanese have spent many years developing the different breeds by careful selection and also developing their own formulas of food for the best growth, color, and health. If you consider the cost of a high quality food versus the "cheap" foods, there is not that much difference. Keeping healthy koi using a high quality food means fewer outbreaks of disease and lower mortality rates.
