ARTICLES RELATED TO triumph | | | | triumph: Triumph of Spirit: Annie's Dream
Influenced by Madame Blavatsky, Annie Besant joined the Theosophical Society. Her aim was to found a universal brotherhood where race and creed don't matter, to encourage the study of literature and philosophy, and to investigate the unexplained laws of nature and the physical powers latent in man. She advocated a radical approach to religion, which emphasised that religion cannot be forced upon any one; that faith was a matter of personal belief. Why did she choose to become a Theosophist? Annie Besant wrote: ''An imperious necessity forces me to speak the truth, as I see it... That one loyalty to truth I must keep stainless, whether friendships fail me or human ties be broken... I asked no other epitaph on my tomb but that 'she tried to follow truth'."

 | | | triumph: Encyclopedia II - Triumph of the Will - Origins"Shortly after he came to power Hitler called me to see him and explained that he wanted a film about a Party Congress, and wanted me to make it. My first reaction was to say that I did not know anything about the way such a thing worked or the organization of the Party, so that I would obviously photograph all the wrong things and please nobody — even supposing that I could make a documentary, which I had never yet done. Hitler said that this was exactly why he wanted me to do it: because anyone who knew all about the relative importance ...

Fall : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Fall
Fall A very common dream action generally symbolic of some basic fear in the dreamer's life, such as fear of a moral lapse, job failure, sexual inadequacy, loss of status, etc.; however, the prophetic meaning of this dream is, strangely, very similar in that it indicates setbacks but modified by the details of its action. If, in your dream, you fell a long distance, you can expect the reverses to be general and fairly severe; however, if you landed without hurting yourself, they will be upsetting but quite temporary. If you hurt yourself, you should be prepared to endure some real hardships for a time. To fall from a medium height signifies a loss of prestige; to fall to the floor (as from a standing or sitting position) is a warning of danger from false friends. If your dream involved others falling, it indicates triumph over enemies; and if you fell but got up again, you will overcome the obstacles in your path. To fall into water means financial stress, but the water factor and condition must also be considered. Source: Dreaming@Swoon

 | | | triumph: Encyclopedia II - Triumph of the Will - ResponseTriumph of the Will premiered on March 28, 1935 at the Berlin Ufa Palace Theater and was an instant success. Within two months the film had earned 815,000 Reichsmarks, and the Ufa considered it one of the three most profitable films of that year.[3] Hitler praised the film as being an "incomparable glorification of the power and beauty of our Movement." For her efforts, Riefenstahl was rewarded with the German Film Prize (Deutscher Filmpreis), a gold medal at the 1935 V ...

 | | | triumph: Colourful Triumph of Good over Evil - about Holi
Holi is an abundant celebration of joy, goodness and the season of spring. The day of Holi on Phalgun Purnima (full moon day) is observed as the birthday of Manu, the start of Sambat (first day in the Hindu calendar). Spiritually, it signifies light prevailing over darkness, fear and ignorance. Holi is associated with mal utsav (smearing of colours) and the Holika bonfire in which dry sticks and cow dung are put to fire and corn seeds burnt to the point of losing their power to germinate. The fire represents the burning away of what is old and worn out. The festivities of Holi have a central message - let bygones be bygones, bury old hatchets and start anew in the spirit of spring.

 | | | triumph: Encyclopedia II - Triumph of the Will - Themes"[Triumph of the Will is] the supreme visualisation in cinematic form of the Nazi political religion. Its artistry, reinforced by the grandeur and power of the Nuremberg decor, is designed to sweep us into empathetic identification with Hitler as a kind of human deity. The massive spectacle of regimentation, unity and loyalty to the Fuhrer powerfully conveys the message that the Nazi movement was the living symbol of the reborn German nation." -- Professor Robert Wistrich[4] ...

 | | | triumph: Encyclopedia II - Triumph of the Will - PlotTriumph of the Will has been described as "by Nazis, for Nazis, and about Nazis".[2] The film begins with a prologue, the only commentary in the film. On a stone wall, the following text appears: On September 5, 1934, ... 20 years after the outbreak of the World War ... 16 years after the beginning of our suffering ... 19 months after the beginning of the German renaissance ... Adolf Hitler flew again to Nuremberg to review ...

 | | | triumph: Risk, Security, and Triumph Ð
Consequences of the Power of ThoughtNothing
ventured, nothing gained! No pain, no gain! When the going gets tough, the
tough get going, Everything's a trade-off. These are the great truisms or affirmations. It seems our minds are
extremely aware of negative consequences at every turn.
It
is known that take-action people are often not greatly introspective. If you
really let yourself think of the possible negative consequences of any action,
you might never get out of bed in the morning. Some version of that model is
how most people lead their lives. "Play it safe. Don't risk, or you can
lose everything." Or at least... "It will be too painful if you lose."

 | | | triumph: Encyclopedia II - Triumph of the Will - Influences and legacyAccording to the History Place, "The legacy of Triumph of the Will lives on today in the numerous TV documentaries concerning the Nazi era which replay portions of the film... [Its] most enduring and dangerous illusion is that Nazi Germany was a super-organized state, that, although evil in nature, was impressive nonetheless."[16] Nicholas Reeves concurs, adding that "many of the most enduring images of the [Third Reich] and [Adolf Hitler] derive from Riefenstahl’s film."< ...

 | | | triumph: Bitter-sweet Pill For Equanimity
In Karnataka, on the morning of Ugadi, New Year, it is a tradition to eat bevu-bella crushed tender neem leaves and jaggery powder mixed and made into little balls. The story of Rama and the trials and tribulations he and Sita had to undergo is well-known. Valmiki explains why even Rama, an avatar of Vishnu, had to suffer thus. Since Rama was a human incarnation, the life of the prince had to follow the pattern of an ordinary human being's. His life, too, had to have patches of triumph and happiness, sorrow and suffering.

 | | | triumph: From Desire To Enlightenment
Religion is not meant to create conflict and division, but to promote dialogue and harmony. Buddha Purnima is an appropriate occasion to dwell a little on the Buddhist philosophy I follow, of Nichiren Daishonin, called the Soka Gakkai, which literally means "Value Creating Society". Daisaku Ikeda, president of Soka Gakkai International, says: "The people and the society of our age might be compared to a ship in the middle of the ocean which has lost its compass. Without an accurate guide to lead them, they sail aimlessly along towards the future''.

 | | | triumph: Madonna - A Life Of Supplication
Two images of Mary have dominated the Christian consciousness through the years. One is that of the Madonna, whom artists depict as holding a naked newborn, offering the world life. The second popular image of Mary is that of the Pieta - the mother of the suffering servant, the sorrowful mother. Artists never tire of painting Mary standing in solitude at the foot of the cross, the woman whose heart was pierced with a sword.Theologian Richard Rohr writing on Mary says that we are mothered into life and mothered out of life.

 | | | triumph: Encyclopedia II - Triumph of the Will - ControversyLike Battleship Potemkin and The Birth of a Nation, Triumph of the Will has been accused of using spectacular filmmaking to promote a monstrous cause. In Germany, this movie is classified as National Socialist propaganda and its showing is restricted under post-war denazification laws, but it may be shown in an educational context. In her defense, Riefenstahl claimed that she was naive about the Nazis when she made it and had no knowledge of Hitler's genocidal policies. She also said that Triumph contains "not one ...

 | | | triumph: The Hindu Godess Mother KaliMOTHER
KALI
The
Destroyer of Demoniac Attributes
It is
unfortunate that Devi is ignorantly understood by many as a mere blood-thirsty
Hindu Goddess. No! Devi is not a vicious demoness nor is She the property of
the Hindus alone. Devi does not belong to any religion. Devi is that conscious
power of God. The words Devi, Shakti, etc., and the ideas of different forms
connected with these names are concessions granted by the sages due to the
limitations of the human intellect; they are by no means the ultimate
definitions of Shakti.
From " Hindu Fasts & Festivals " by Sri Swami
Sivananda.
