The name Sheen is now used for the eastern end of Richmond town. Many people assume that the folk song "Lass of Richmond Hill" refers to Richmond Upon Thames, but it originated in the Yorkshire Richmond. In William Shakespeare's "Richard III", and in "Henry VI part 3", Henry VII is referred to as Richmond. This is because he was Earl of Richmond. This Richmond was the s ...

Tottenham: Encyclopedia II - Liverpool F.C. - Rafael Benítez: Back on top of Europe

Spaniard Rafael Benítez took over from Houllier, but erratic league form quickly put paid to their Premiership title hopes, eventually finishing fifth. However, the season had a glorious ending at the European Cup final in Istanbul. After eliminating hot favourites Juventus in the quarter finals and English rivals Chelsea F.C. in the semis, the Reds met Italian side AC Milan in the final. Liverpool trailed 0-3 at half time, but three goals in the second half forced extra time and then a penalty shoot out, which Liverpool won. This triumph w ...

Tottenham: Encyclopedia II - Finsbury Park station - London Underground

The station is served by the Piccadilly and Victoria lines. Although thought of as a 'deep-level' tube station, Finsbury Park has neither lifts nor escalators as its lines are less than 20' (6.1 m) below street level. The access to the Piccadilly and Victoria line platforms is by staircase only, reached via two narrow passages that probably exclude the installation of automatic ticket barriers - remarkable, considering its Zone 2 location. Manual ticket inspections do, however, occasionally take place. See also:
