Hinduism Dictionary on Aura
aura: The luminous colorful field of subtle energy radiating within and around the human body, extending out from three to seven feet. The colors of the aura change constantly according to the ebb and flow of one's state of consciousness, thoughts, moods and emotions. Higher, benevolent feelings create bright pastels; base, negative feelings are darker in color. Thus, auras can be seen and "read" by clairvoyants. The general nature of auras varies according to individual unfoldment. Great mystics have very bright auras, while instinctive persons are shrouded in dull shades. The aura consists of two aspects, the outer aura and the inner aura. The outer aura extends beyond the physical body and changes continuously, reflecting the individual's moment-to-moment panorama of thought and emotion. The inner aura is much more constant, as it reflects deep-seated subconscious patterns, desires, repressions and tendencies held in the sub-subconscious mind. Those colors which are regularly and habitually reflected in the outer aura are eventually recorded more permanently in the inner aura. The colors of the inner aura permeate out through the outer aura and either shade with sadness or brighten with happiness the normal experiences of daily life. The inner aura hovers deep within the astral body in the chest and torso and looks much like certain "modern-art" paintings, with heavy strokes of solid colors here and there. In Sanskrit, the aura is called prabhamandala, "luminous circle," or diptachakra, "wheel of light." See: mind (five states of mind), papa, punya.

ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE
ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE The Alexander Technique is movement education in which the student is taught to sit, stand, and move in ways that reduce physical stress on the body. Alexander Technique teachers use gentle manual guidance and verbal cues to improve students’ posture and movement patterns. A lesson or group class typically involves basic movements such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, carrying, and lying down. It may also involve more specialized activities such as playing a musical instrument, working at a computer, etc. T he teacher’s manual guidance stresses the adjustment of the head, neck, and torso relationship. In beginning lessons, the teacher closely monitors the student. Later, the student learns to monitor herself, ultimately learning a unique self-management process - an understanding of balance and dynamic postural control. F. M. Alexander, an Australian actor, developed the technique in the late 1800s as a result of attempting to solve his own physical problem of losing his voice on stage. He discovered that misuse of the neuromuscular activity of the head, neck, and spine caused maladaptive functioning and that this movement could be corrected. As he began to teach his technique, he found that his students’ overall health improved and that the technique could be used to address a wide array of problems.

SHEN THERAPY
SHEN THERAPY SHEN is the acronym for Specific Human Energy Nexus and was developed by American scientist Richard Pavek. A scientifically researched form of energy healing, SHEN aims to release emotions trapped in the body, leading to freedom from pain and tension. SHEN teaches that most emotions are held in the torso, at four main sites: the heart, the solar plexus, the kath (below the navel), and the root (the perineum). The practitioner places hands in paired positions on the fully-clothed client who’s lying on the table. The practitioner ascertains the locations of somatically held emotions and determines an appropriate physio-emotional release plan. A naturally occurring energy flows from the practitioner’s hands through the emotional centers of the client’s body in a precise way to discharge debilitating emotions.

Danger, High Voltage - Kundalini AwakeningA
Kundalini release can be triggered by meditation, yoga, prayer, bodywork,
psychedelic drugs, a life crisis (such as extreme physical or emotional trauma,
a near-death experience or the death of a loved one), childbirth, menopause,
certain ascetic or sexual practices, and so forth. Kundalini can also awaken
spontaneously from no apparent cause. This out-of-the-blue Kundalini arousal
occurred in my own case in 1991. Since then, I have communicated with hundreds
of people whose Kundalini rose involuntarily, initiating a long transformative
process.

long-developing, prepubescence ramping toward the kundalini spinal puberty is
known as pranotthana ("intensified, uplifted life energy," perhaps
emergent within cellular mitochondria). This is clearly the same force of

 | | | Torso Dictionary: The Beauty of Tai Chi MovementsTai Chi movements have a ballet-like quality; yet
there is an underlying strength. Tai Chi is the most highly evolved art,
science and philosophy of mind and body development, which gives you the -
strength of a bull; the serenity of a Buddha.
The Tai Chi movements were originated and refined by
those who were highly knowledgeable about the principles of movement, action,
physiology and health. It is usual for people unacquainted with Tai Chi to
remark: - It looks just like balletÓ.

 | | | Torso Dictionary: Encyclopedia II - Borg - Origin of the BorgOver thousands of centuries, the Borg have encountered and assimilated thousands of species. However, little information regarding the true origin of the Borg millennia ago has been divulged in canon sources.
Given this and the Borg species numbering system, it is probable that the species originally giving rise to the Borg would have been designated as Species 1 or 0. Similarly, it is interesting to note that the Borg Queen is a member of species 125 – meaning she is of an early species assimilated by the Borg. Thus, species 125, o ...

 | | | Torso Dictionary: Meditation on Impermanence
Everything in the universe is impermanent. Like the waves in the sea that ascend and descend, so to creation is made up of electromagnetic and subtler forces that are seemingly being created and then dissipating. The manifest existence as we know it, finds one level of its source in the molecular structure nourished by God's love where change is not so clearly obvious. However, on the more perceptible plane, humans change, our thoughts change, our desires change, seasons change, our relationships change, as also do the forms of inanimate objects: vehicles that break down, walls that crack, stones that break; not to mention the shapes of the clouds in the sky and the positions of the planets and the stars.
