Zamzummim (Hebrew) [from the verbal root zamam to meditate, think upon, devising successful plans, ponder successfully; to be strong, vigorous, powerful]

A race of prehistoric giants in Palestine, described in the Bible (Deut 2:21).

Adah (Assyr.). Borrowed by the Hebrews for the name of their Adah, father of Jubal, etc. But Adah meaning the first, the one, is universal property. There are reasons to think that Ak-ad, means the first-born or Son of Ad. Adon was the first "Lord" of Syria. (See Isis Unv. II., pp. 452, 453.)

Mahat (Sanskrit). Lit., "The great one". The first principle of Universal Intelligence and Consciousness. In the Puranic philosophy the first product of root-nature or Pradhana (the same as Mulaprakriti); the producer of Manas the thinking principle, and of Ahankara, egotism or the feeling of "I am I" (in the lower Manas).

Manu (Sanskrit). The great Indian legislator. The name comes from the Sanskrit root man "to think" - mankind really, but stands for Swayambhuva, the first of the Manus, who started from Swayambhu, "the self-existent" hence the Logos, and the progenitor of mankind. Manu is the first Legislator, almost a Divine Being.

Gea (Ancient Greek). Primordial Matter, in the Cosmogony of Hesiod; Earth, as some think; the wife of Ouranos, the sky or heavens. The female personage of the primeval Trinity, composed of Ouranos, Gea and Eros.

MEDITATION

A means of allowing the deepest self to speak. Meditation is really only deep thinking, concentrated and free from distraction. It is an energizing process, not a tranquilizer, as so many believe. It can also concern itself with self-programming or autohypnosis, on a more practical level.

ONTOLOGICAL ANARCHISM

Hakim Bey's term for overcoming Taoism's excessive passivity and withdrawal. He feels that to be really different invites repression by the Establishment. One should not think of oneself as a Liberal, but as a criminal.

One who holds to pre-apocalyptic consensual thinking, such as anti-earth politics, kinship values and money-centered, disapproval-leadership in the face of overwhelming evidence of the worthlessness of such attitudes.

F FACTOR

The "F" stands for futility. It is the common sense (which negative thinking perpetuates), that everything is bound to fail unless unflagging energy, perseverance and will are brought to bear. The strong derive their strength from this. The weak derive their weakness from it.

Shiva: The Divine; a deity that has served yogis as an archetypal model throughout the ages. Also, in the Sahasrara chakra at the crown of the head, according to Yogic thinking, lives the yang or masculine aspect of divine creative expression.  As the third member of the Hindu Trinity, Shiva is the Destroyer God, joining Brahma and Vishnu.

Mantra:

Mantra (from the verbal root man "to think"): a sacred sound or phrase, such as om, hum, or om namah shivaya, that has a transformative effect on the mind of the individual reciting it; to be ultimately effective, a mantra needs to be given in an initiatory context (diksha)

Color zone therapy is a combination of positive thinking, zone therapy, and a variation of color therapy that is a form of visualization (see creative visualization).

distant pulse diagnosis: Form of remote diagnosis that is a variation of Nadi Vigyan (pulse diagnosis). The practitioner places his or her fingers on someone's wrist, thinks of someone else, and diagnoses the latter person.

Theosophia (Ancient Greek). Wisdom-religion, or "Divine Wisdom". The substratum and basis of all the world-religions and philosophies, taught and practised by a few elect ever since man became a thinking being. In its practical bearing, Theosophy is purely divine ethics; the definitions in dictionaries are pure nonsense, based on religious prejudice and ignorance of the true spirit of the early Rosicrucians and medieval philosophers who called themselves Theosophists.

Paradesa (Sanskrit) [from para beyond, above + desa region, country]

The region above or beyond; said to be the highlands to which the first Sanskrit-speaking people have supposedly been traced. More truly, the cradleland of the first thinking man. It is also the sacred land in Central Asia inhabited by the Dragons of Wisdom or initiates, and in this sense is synonymous with Sambhala.

Ahammana (Sanskrit) (from aham ego + mana from the verbal root man to think, reflect upon)

Egoism, self-illusion; hence spiritual ignorance, the maya produced by reflecting upon or imagining one's "I" as of primary importance. "When soul is associated with prakriti, it is vitiated by egotism (ahammana)

and the rest, and assumes the qualities of grosser nature, although essentially distinct from them, and incorruptible (avyaya)

Chitta citta (Sanskrit) (from the verbal root chit to fix the mind upon, design, be intent upon)

Thinking, reflection, pondering; used for either the mind or the heart, as being considered respectively the seats of conscious or unconscious mentation. Also used for memory, intelligence, reason, while in astrology it is the name of the ninth mansion (Sagittarius).
