| ARTICLES RELATED TO Spirituality in Business | | | | Spirituality in Business: Working With Devotion You may know people who are "devoted to their work" - meaning that they are dedicated to their careers and their jobs. If this comes from the ego, it means that they experience self-gratification from what they do. The reasons could be many: perhaps the power they enjoy, perhaps the use of their talents, perhaps the difference they make through their work. There's nothing wrong with this type of devotion and certainly it has contributed to the betterment of our world in many ways. However, if our devotion to our work only remains at this self-gratifying level, we are missing a huge opportunity for spiritual growth. So come with us as we explore this path of devotion as a spiritual practice at work. See also: Spirituality At Work, Work As A Spiritual Practice, Spiritual Based Leadership)

| | | | | | Spirituality in Business: See, Savour, And Serve The Divine Through Your Work In recent articles, we've spoken of three different pathways that people commonly choose for growing spiritually through their work: the paths of action, devotion, and wisdom. The path of wisdom leads us to work with the awareness that Divinity is in everyone and everything. As the Sikh's book Adi Granth says: God dwells in everything, God shines in every heart. Wherever I look, there is God; no one else is seen. See also: Spirituality At Work, Work As A Spiritual Practice, Spiritual Based Leadership)

| | | | | Spirituality in Business: Attune Your Work With Righteousness In this article, we will explore righteousness, the second of five human values (truth, righteousness, peace, love, and non-violence) found in all spiritual traditions. "Righteousness" is one of the most common translations of the Sanskrit word "dharma," which in essence means to act in accord with divine law, moral principles, and the unity of all life. Righteousness, from a spiritual basis, is acting in harmony with the Divine nature that is inherent in yourself and all creation. This spiritual basis of righteousness is well expressed by Dena Merriam, Vice-Chairperson of Ruder Finn, an internationally prominent public relations firm: See also: Spirituality At Work, Work As A Spiritual Practice, Spiritual Based Leadership)

| | | | | | Spirituality in Business: Journalists Need A Loving Detachment There's this story about a writer who drifted into journalism. Sent to a distant island to cover a civil war, he happily lazed around in a beach house, watched spectacular sunrises and breathtaking sunsets, and occasionally heard the distant 'musical' rumble of guns. He faithfully recorded all this, and was promptly sacked for missing the 'big story'. But while he was an utter failure as a journalist, wasn't he an astute observer of the relative truth of the waking state? | | | | | Spirituality in Business: Learn to Let Go, Adapt to Change Today, dealing with change is perceived as a huge challenge. In fact, 'change management' has become a major preoccupation of leaders in all walks of life, including in government, business and institutions. Employees too are grappling with changes in the work place. More than ever before, the number of people individually striving to learn more and grow at a personal level is increasing by leaps and bounds. So they have to learn to adapt themselves to changing situations. Most of us are fairly quick at learning, at cultivating new tastes and fashions. Yet, our first reaction to change is always tinged with suspicion and caution, and in some cases, resistance.
