This is a good question and one with differing viewpoints, not only amongst interested persons, but also different messages between the channelings of different entities. It's an interesting question. Why do we want to know this? Well, there is some thought that knowing about past lives will help figure out current life karmic lessons.

Also, I've heard it said that some Indigos seem to have no compassion - that they just don't understand why someone else would be angry or hurt or sad about various issues that come up and therefore inadvertently hurt others feelings. If this is true, then they would need training specific to this. I've also heard that Indigos are particularly empathic and compassionate and will go out of their way to help someone who is hurting. This contradicts the first idea, so which is it??

The People of the Indigo Ray, or the Blue Ones, have been on this planet for a while, but have not manifested in such great numbers for a very long time. There has always been a random sprinkling of Indigos in the population in all generations, but these people were fairly rare before the final third of the Twentieth Century. And Indigos have been with us since the dawn of time, and many have contributed much to our advancement- some were famous, many were not. All were unique and gifted.

The current heavy surge of Indigo arrivals have manifested in five distinct and discernable decants or generations of one decade each. Each generation has distinguishing characteristics, auric veils, and Awakening/Saturn's Return years. I have listed them here for clarity.

"Indigo Children" is the name given to a very special group of beings who have chosen to incarnate on our planet with a specific mission and purpose.

The name "indigo Child" refers to the soul color of Indigo, which indicates a Master Soul who serves as a teacher or healer. Every Indigo Child will undertake this mission of teaching or healing in some way, often merely by being who he or she is.

Indigos have been coming to our planet for a long time. Some argue that Jesus and Buddha were Indigos, since their mission, on a global scale, was to teach and heal, and to shift the consciousness of humanity.

We hear about the new children and how they are changing our world. The Indigo children are here making a difference now, but what's next? For the past seven years Steve Rother has been receiving divinely inspired information from a collective of angels simply known as "the Group." He and his partner Barbara have presented this information to delegations at the United Nations on two continents on five separate occasions. It starts with a vague feeling of something not quite being 'right'. Sounds are harsher on the ears, you find yourself avoiding your once-beloved candle shop because the scents are so over powering. James Twyman is convinced that there's a new generation of special children among us who are psychically sensitive and spiritually evolved.

Those who follow metaphysics and ancient spiritual teachings have for years quietly nurtured the belief in these kids, known as Indigo children for the deep blue color of the "auras" psychics say they see around them.

I have been asked by Archangel Michael to write this article in order to help the many people who undergo the experience of a rapid shift into multi-dimensional awareness, or, the shift from the Indigo state to the Crystal state of consciousness.

There are people who make the transition in a relatively gentle way, but there are many who experience a crisis when this happens. These are usually the people who have chosen to open up to the higher dimensions. This choice is not made logically by the rational mind, but is rather a soul choice made in response to the available transitional energies of the Earth herself. So, sometimes a person is thrust into psychological, emotional and bodily changes for which they can find no logical explanation. This can cause a crisis. My experience has been that orthodox doctors and psychologists are of very little help as they have no idea of what the person is experiencing. When tests come back negative, the person is often considered to be hysterical or ungrounded or even schizophrenic.

A "home-grown," low-budget flick, it is part of a new movement throughout our country for Spiritual Cinema, movies that extoll and uplift the human spirit in positive, transformative ways. There has been a lot of press lately about the sudden upsurge in profoundly autistic children- especially in California, but also in many other places. Some attribute this to the toxins in the water of California from the many fabrication plants in the Bay Area. Others say that when mildly autistic geeky sorts mate, their children are more likely to amplify their traits. Many programmers have Aspergers, a mild form of autism, which makes them excellent programmers, but also carries the risk of their offspring having full-blown autism. And others say the problem stems from the effects of some vaccines on children.

You, as the parents, are the partners in this mission of teaching and healing. You can help your child to fulfill its mission by understanding what is required of you. As a parent to an Indigo, you can expect to be challenged at every turn, but having the skills to handle these challenges will create and easier relationship between you and your Indigo. As the parent of a Crystal, you will have to deal with a very strong will and frequent power struggles. Again, having the parenting skills to cope with these issues will facilitate the growth and unfolding of your child.

Crystals are tools that augment the flow of energy. They are like magnifying glasses, enhancing that which lies behind them (our thoughts, feelings, intentions and desires).
