| ARTICLES RELATED TO Spiritual Awakening | | | | | | Spiritual Awakening: The Problem Of the Subtle Sybil EffectThe
underlying reason the big questions are so difficult to answer is ultimately
personal - we are swamped in a plethora of identities, most of them false.
These false personas were imposed upon us from the outside by society and from
the inside by our own muddled thinking. For most of us, there is no single
unified self, no uniform field of continuous consciousness. Our "common
sense" notion to the contrary, that we are one person with a singular
identity, is based on a false assumption.

descend. Shaktipat is a method by which an individual's kundalini is awakened
by the direct intervention of a guru. Practially speaking shaktipat is known by
its results: the awakening of of the student's kundalini.
This FAQ gives an overview of Siddha Mahayoga. Part I of III.
In Part II: 1) What is shaktipat?, 2) How does shaktipat
work?, 3) Who can give shaktipat?, 4) Who can receive shaktipat?, 4) Are all
shaktipat initiations the same?, 5) Can one receive shaktipat just by being in
the presence of those with awakened shakti?, 6) So what happens after
shaktipat?, 7) What is the practice of Siddha Mahayoga?

| | | | Spiritual Awakening: Kundalini and Sahaja Yoga (Spontaneous Yoga)Kundalini
Awakening
Kundalini
awakening or pranic awakening and its cross-tradition similars-the spontaneous
spinal rockings known in Judaism as davening and in
Sufisim as zikr; the "taken-over"
gyrations of gospel "holy ghost" shaking and dancing and
charismatic/pentacostal "mani-festations"; the Dionysian
"revel"; QuakerismÕs and Shakerism's autonomic quaking and shaking;
Tai Chi guided by chi itself; the shamanic trance-dance;
BuddhismÕs and Raja-YogaÕs effortless "straight back" (uju-kaya)
meditation; the yogically derived ecstatic belly-dance and Flamenco; and even
the full-bodied, spontaneous Reichian "reflex"-literally embody the
spiritual path.

| | | | | | | Spiritual Awakening: Love Yourself to Love the
WorldA basic
spiritual lesson is to learn to love unconditionally. However, we often
overlook the importance of loving ourselves along with everything else. Every
one of us is a part of the whole of life.
As you
grow to realise that you are an integral part of life's grand picture, it
becomes clear that loving yourself along with everything else is part of the
deal. Most religions teach that selflessness is the ideal; that self-love is
the antithesis of being selfless. Is self-love really opposed to selflessness? And
is it the same as being self-involved?

| | | | Spiritual Awakening: The End Of Marriage As We Know ItSomething
seems to be seriously wrong with marriage.
During
the past 50 years, the rate of divorce in the United States has exploded out of
control to its current level of about 50 percent, and it shows no signs of
letting up. That is a very sobering trend and statistic. I recently contributed
to that number, and it doesn't feel so good, especially when there are innocent
children involved. Some people have contributed more than once. Most of them
probably feel worse than I do, and wonder where it all went wrong.

| | | | Spiritual Awakening: Reach For Your Soul - Nurture
Your RootsThe life of a plant is
hidden in the roots beneath the ground. If the roots are not taken care of, the
flowers and the leaves will die no matter how much you care for them. By taking
care of the roots, the flowers will get nourished automatically. For, the
flowers come out of the roots, and not the other way round.
The head or the heart
are perceived to be the most important parts of the human body. But the truth
is that our roots are more important. Just as the plants have roots in the
earth from which they draw their life-energy, in the human body, there are
roots which draw life-energy from the soul. The day those roots become feeble,
the body begins to die.

| | | | | | | Spiritual Awakening: A Perfect MarriageTimes
of great upheaval in our lives are very powerful opportunities for new growth.
I feel a bit like I'm bungee jumping and in free fall. All that was has been
yanked out from under me, and as I surrender in each moment, I am falling,
falling. It is both unnerving and exhilarating at the same time, for I know that
things happen for the best, one way or another, and this knowing is literally
my "lifeline."

| | | | | | Spiritual Awakening: Why are we moved to do what we do? Ð Part IIOnce the basic
needs of life are met, most people turn to the pursuit of pleasure, fun, and
enjoyment. These include finding comfortable places to relax and rest, tasty
food and drink, entertainment, recreation, sports, arts, socializing, romance,
taking consciousness-altering substances such as caffeine, nicotine, alcohol,
and other drugs.

| | | | Spiritual Awakening: Kundalini AwakensKundalini Awakening
When Rob told me my Kundalini had been
awakened, I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. The awakening of
Kundalini is a spiritual awakening, a major step towards realization of the
divine. It is, in fact, a great boon, a great blessing and a magical gift.
According to Swami Prajananda,
"The main purpose of its
awakening in a seeker is to enable him to attain Godhood" (Muktananda,
Kundalini 9).

Danger, High Voltage - Kundalini AwakeningA
Kundalini release can be triggered by meditation, yoga, prayer, bodywork,
psychedelic drugs, a life crisis (such as extreme physical or emotional trauma,
a near-death experience or the death of a loved one), childbirth, menopause,
certain ascetic or sexual practices, and so forth. Kundalini can also awaken
spontaneously from no apparent cause. This out-of-the-blue Kundalini arousal
occurred in my own case in 1991. Since then, I have communicated with hundreds
of people whose Kundalini rose involuntarily, initiating a long transformative
process.
