Spirit World is the term used in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the plane of existence for human spirits after physical death (separation of spirit from body) but before the Resurrection. The Spirit World is believed to be divided basically into two realms: Paradise, the abode of righteous spirits, and the Spirit Prison, for spirits who are not yet saved.  If we accept that dying is not the end of our existence but simply the end of the body that carried our consciousness, and that our soul survives and exists somewhere else, then we can accept that it might be possible to make contact with the consciousness and all the emotions and memories that continue on.

Spirit contact is thought-generated by both the medium and contacting spirit. When a medium sits with a client, the medium is in effect filled with thoughts about that client; these thoughts are then transmitted by the medium into the world of spirit.

Pitri Loka is also known by the name of Chandraloka, wherein the forefathers, or Pitris, live. This is also a heaven. Those who perform sacrifices and charitable deeds with selfish motives (Ishtapurtam), such as digging wells, building rest-houses and laying out parks or gardens for the public, enter this Loka. The ruler of this world is Lord Yama, son of Surya. The Jivas come back to this world after the fruits of their actions have been exhausted.

 A widely held misconception regarding poltergeists is that the terms poltergeist and ghost are synonymous. The terms, "Indigo" and "Crystal" were given to two generations of children, because they most accurately describe their aura colors and energy patterns.
