The human tristimulus color space.
One can picture this space as a region in three-dimensional Euclidean space if one identifies the x, y, and z axes with the stimuli for the long-wavelength (L), medium-wavelength (M), and short-wavelength (S) receptors. The origin, (S,M,L) = (0,0,0), corresponds to black. White has no definite position in this diagram; rather it is defined according to the color temperature or white balance as desired or as available from ambient ...

| | | | Spells to Change Your Eye Color: Encyclopedia II - Closed eye hallucinations - Level 1: The Visual NoiseThe most basic form of CEV perception that can be immediately experienced in normal waking consciousness involves a seemingly random noise of pointilistic light/dark regions with no apparent shape or order.
This can be seen when you close your eyes, but try to actively look with your eyes at the back of your closed eyelids. In a bright room, a dark red can be seen. In a dark room, blackness can be seen. But in either case it is not a flat unchanging redness/blackness. Instead, if actively observed for a few minutes, you become aware of an apparent disorganized motion, a random field of lightne ...

| | | | | Spells to Change Your Eye Color: Encyclopedia II - Color blindness - Classification of color deficienciesThe normal human retina contains two kinds of light sensitive cells: the rod cells (active in low light) and the cone cells (active in normal daylight). Normally, there are three kinds of cones, each containing a different pigment. The cones are activated when the pigments absorb light. The absorption spectra of the pigments differ; one is maximally sensitive to short wavelengths, one to medium wavelengths, and the third to long wavelengths (their peak sensitivities are in the blue, yellowish-green, and yellow regions of the spectrum, respec ...

| | | | Spells to Change Your Eye Color: Encyclopedia II - Closed eye hallucinations - Level 4: Objects and ThingsThis is a fairly deep state, typically only accessible through psychoactives or people who have practiced meditation for a long time. At this level, what you are thinking becomes visually manifest as if it were a real object or environment. When this level is reached, the CEV noise seems to calm down and fade away, leaving behind an intense flat ordered blackness. The visual field becomes a sort of active space where what you think is what you get. A side component of this is the ability to feel motion if your eyes are closed. For example th ...

| | | | Spells to Change Your Eye Color: Encyclopedia II - Color - Color visionThough the exact status of color is a matter of current philosophical dispute, color is arguably a psychophysical phenomenon that exists only in our minds. (See Qualia, for some of that dispute.) A "red" apple does not give off "red light", and it is misleading to think of things that we see, or of light itself, as objectively colored at all. Rather, the apple simply absorbs light of various wavelengths shining on it to different degrees, in such a way that the unabsorbed light which it reflects is perceived as red. An apple is perceived< ...

| | | | Spells to Change Your Eye Color: Encyclopedia II - Iris anatomy - Red eyeWhen photographed with a flash, the iris only reacts to protect the retina, and not fast enough to avoid the red-eye effect. This represents reflection of light from the back of the eye, and is closely related to the term red reflex, used by ophthalmologists in describing appearances on fundal examination.
When used as a descriptive term in medicine, the meaning of "red eye" is quite different, and indicates that the bulbar conjunctiva is reddened due to dilatation of superficial blood vessels. Leaving aside rarities, it ...

| | | | Spells to Change Your Eye Color: Encyclopedia II - Private Eye - CriticismOverall, criticism of the Eye should perhaps be viewed in the light of a remark made to the editors by the director and satirist Jonathan Miller: "When are you lot going to develop a point of view?" Miller once described the Eye's editorial conference as like watching naked, anti-Semitic public schoolboys in a changing room, flicking wet towels at defenceless victims.
Critics of the magazine in the distant past have suggested that it had an antisemitic tone, perhaps because it refers to the Daily Telegraph newspaper as t ...

| | | | Spells to Change Your Eye Color: Encyclopedia II - Private Eye - LitigationThe magazine is sued for libel on a regular basis and maintains a large quantity of money as a "fighting fund" (although experience has taught those behind the magazine quick ways to defuse legal tensions, usually by printing a letter from those concerned).
Those who have sued the magazine include many famous names, though as the editors noted, while politicians are a prime target they "tend to take their medicine like men", and the largest number of lawsuits issue from journalists. For the tenth anniversary issue, the cover showed a cartoon headstone inscribed with a long list of well-known names, and th ...

| | | | Spells to Change Your Eye Color: Encyclopedia II - Color models - RGB color spaceMedia that transmit light (such as television) use additive color mixing with primary colors of red, green, and blue, each of which stimulates one of the three types of the eye's color receptors with as little stimulation as possible of the other two. This is called "RGB" color space—see also RGB color model. Mixtures of light of these primary colors cover a large part of the human color space and thus produce a large part of human color experiences. This is why color television sets or color computer monitors need only produce mixtures o ...

Slayers - Black Magic.
These spells borrow their power from the Mazoku. If the particular Mazoku lending power to the spell is killed, the spell becomes unusable. The exception is Dragon Slave, because fragments of Ruby Eye, its source, still remain.

Magick Dictionary
on
SPELLS SPELLS Incantations or invocations intended to produce an external event for good or evil (for example, ABRACADABRA). To be most effective, they should be spontaneously created to suit the person or situation for which they are intended. Stock mantrams, over-used clichés, etc. (such as "Rain, rain, go away" or "May all your troubles be little ones" or "Go to Hell!") are generally useless. Spells too numerous to list involve quite bizarre mantras, sacrificed animal parts and extremely complicated rituals. With the egg of a black hen or the eye of a wolf buried during the full moon, secrets will be revealed, enemies punished and wealth increased. Curious substances and strange behavior of that sort are intended to conceal the genuine knowledge underlying enchantments. A good source for such spells can be found in Volume II of Christian's Histoire de la Magie, 1870. (See also: SPELLS, Magick, Mysticism, Mysticism Dictionary, Body Mind and Soul, )
