Dictionary II on Chakra System Chakra System The chakras are the bodies centres of energy and vital to the well being of the whole person. They are the energy centres through which our spiritual and emotional energies flow. The word ‘Chakra’ is taken from Hindi and means ‘wheel of energy’ There are seven chakras or energy centres within the body. Each Chakra has certain characteristics and influences a different aspect of the personality. The correct flow of energies through the chakras is vital for health. When the flow of Prana, or energy is blocked, disease results. The Base Chakra, Mooladhara This chakra controls the basic human survival instincts and provides an essential ‘grounding’. Our most basic human instincts originate from this Chakra. The Sacral Chakra, Swadisthan Manipura This is linked to sexuality and reproductive capacity. The Solar Plexus, Nabhi This chakra is said to direct our awareness of self within the world. This is the seat of our emotional life and existence. Hindu -
Hinduism Dictionary on Chakra chakra: (Sanskrit) "Wheel." Any of the nerve plexes or centers of force and consciousness located within the inner bodies of man. In the physical body there are corresponding nerve plexuses, ganglia and glands. The seven principal chakras can be seen psychically as colorful, multi-petaled wheels or lotuses. They are situated along the spinal cord from the base to the cranial chamber. Additionally, seven chakras, barely visible, exist below the spine. They are seats of instinctive consciousness, the origin of jealousy, hatred, envy, guilt, sorrow, etc. They constitute the lower or hellish world, called Naraka or patala. Thus, there are 14 major chakras in all. The seven upper chakras, from lowest to highest, are: 1) muladhara chakra (base of spine): memory, time and space; 2) svadhishthana chakra (below navel): reason; 3) manipura chakra (solar plexus): willpower; 4) anahata chakra (heart center): direct cognition; 5) vishuddha chakra (throat): divine love; 6) ajna chakra (third eye): divine sight; 7) sahasrara chakra (crown of head): illumination, Godliness. The seven lower chakras, from highest to lowest, are 1) atala chakra (hips): fear and lust; 2) vitala chakra (thighs): raging anger; 3) sutala chakra (knees): retaliatory jealousy; 4) talatala chakra (calves): prolonged mental confusion; 5) rasatala chakra (ankles): selfishness; 6) mahatala chakra (feet): absence of conscience; 7) patala chakra (located in the soles of the feet): murder and malice. Spiritual Dictionary on Amazonite Amazonite: Amazonite is a light, aqua-green stone with white mottled flecks. The rock typically originates from the New England States and Colorado. It is composed of potassium feldspar, and is a green variety of microline. The name is derived from amazonstone, from the Amazon River. While amazonite is found in Brazil, it is not found by the Amazon River! It is a sacred stone highly valued and used extensively by the ancient Egyptians. Amazonite is cooling and soothing to your mental state. This stone is important for healing and spiritual growth. It helps to align the heart and solar plexus chakras. It also aligns the etheric and mental bodies. As a thought amplifier, amazonite magnifies the con-sciousness stored in these chakras, especially the psychological attributes. This pleasing, calming stone makes it easier for the life force to act as a bonding agent and this penetrates to the molecular level. It’s an enhancer for most other vibrational remedies. On the cellular level, the brain processes are stimulated. All the body energy currents are strengthened by amazonite. (See also: Amazonite, Magic, Shamanism, Paganism, Wicca)

Spiritual - Theosophy
Dictionary on
Plexus Plexus (Latin) A network, used anatomically for certain networks of nerves or blood vessels. The nerve plexuses forming part of the sympathetic nervous system are closely related functionally to the viscera, and serve as coordinating centers for the various nerve tissues which regulate their muscular and organic action. They are intimately related to mental and emotional states, to such an extent that the chief of them, the solar plexus, has been called the abdominal brain. The word has been used in theosophy to translate the Sanskrit chakra (wheel, nerve ganglion), but these chakras are better defined as forming centers in the vital-astral constitution of the organism. They are centers or foci of pranic energy, having special qualities which may be correlated to other groupings, such as the seven principles, the seven rays, etc. The seven chakras are: sacral, prostatic, epigastric (solar), cardiac, laryngeal, frontal, and cavernous. Any attempt by an untrained student, without a teacher, to try to develop these chakras is sure to cause disaster, since it can result only in the arousing of powerful forces which he has not yet acquired the means to control, and which will therefore control him. Once awakened, they cannot be put to sleep again, and the result will be disorganization, physical or mental or both, manifested in disease, insanity, depravity, or death; in the worst cases, the unfortunate dabbler may set his feet on a path of black magic ending in the final separation of his spiritual ego from its hapless psycho-vital-astral-physical vehicle. The spiritual and higher intellectual powers and faculties must be cultivated first; and this cannot be done by any attempt at artificial stimulation based on fixing the attention on spots in the body or head. The only safe way to practice the chela life is to forget about the body and its mechanism, thus allowing evolution to proceed in its natural course, and dangerous forces to life quiescent until they come naturally and harmoniously into operation. It encompasses Reiki I and a form of distant healing (absent healing). Dr. Mikao Usui rediscovered Reiki in the late 1800s, in Japan. Reiki therapists channel reiki, universal life energy power, through their bodies for storage in the solar plexus, and into dis-eased individuals for rebalancing. Reiki works simultaneously on emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual levels without limitations. The Reiki system's principle is that activated Sacred Universal Symbols evoke healing energies. The word reiki combines two Japanese expressions: rei, which means spirit or soul, and ki (energy, life force). | | | Solar Plexus Chakra: Dream Interpretation
Dictionary - Stomach Stomach: 1. The solar plexus chakra, which rules your power center, is located in the abdomen. Therefore, a dream of pain in this region is probably due to the activation of this chakra - and therefore is a dream of contrary. Even though you're feeling pain, the associated chakra activity is increasing your level of power - physical, mental and spiritual - and thus is a harbinger of success and good fortune lying ahead. 2. Dreaming of the actual organ of digestion is very likely a pun. If in the dream you're feeling sick at your stomach, look to other symbols in the dream to see what is going on in your life that you "can't stomach." If you dream of eating and feel that your stomach is full to bursting, perhaps you've been taking on more responsibilities than you should and need to delegate a few. 3. Dreaming of exposing your abdomen in any way, even if it only involves wearing a bikini, is a sign of treachery ahead. Be careful whom you confide in.
