Shaiba ibn Hashim

His name was Shaiba ibn Hashim, but he became known as Abd-al-Muttalib ibn Hashim. His father was Hashim ibn Abd al-Manaf and his mother was Salma bint Amr of the tribe of an-Najjar. When his father died, his uncle Muttalib ibn Abd al-Manaf succeeded his father. When Muttalib died, Shaiba succeeded him as the chief of the Banu Hashim clan.
