 | | | Self Realization: Realize the Self Hindu Quotes: Realize the Self Every selfless act…is born from Brahman, the eternal, infinite Godhead. He is present in every act of service. All life turns on this law … Whoever violates it, indulging his senses for his own pleasure and ignoring the needs of others, has wasted his life. But those who realize the Self are always satisfied. Having found the source of joy and fulfillment, they not longer seek happiness from the external world. They have nothing to gain or lose by any action; neither people nor things can affect their security. - Bhagavad Gita 3:15-18 . | | | Self Realization: The scientific
process of soul culture and the royal path to self-realizationKriya Yoga: The scientific process of soul culture and the royal path to self-realization The fundamental thesis of Kriya Yoga is that we are a miniature version of the whole cosmos, a microcosm - an evolving universe within the macrocosmic world. The all-pervading supreme creator is hiding within us and activating every action through the breath - hence the name kriya; any work "kri," is being done by the power of the indwelling soul "ya." The various cosmic forces controlling ether, air, fire, water, and earth also control the kinds of work, namely, religious activities, relationship, food, progeny, and earning money performed by the human body. Yoga is the means of conjoining this correspondence between microcosm and macrocosm - realizing the truth behind the union of individual self and the Supreme Self. | | | Self Realization: Agni and the Fire of
Self-InquiryAgni and the Fire of Self-Inquiry Self-inquiry (Atma-vichara), such as taught by Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi, is regarded as the simplest and most direct path to Self-realization. However, Self-inquiry is also very subtle and can be hard to accomplish even after years of dedicated practice. It depends upon a great power of concentration and acuity of mind along with an intense longing for liberation. One might say metaphorically that Self-inquiry requires a certain flame. It requires that we ourselves become a flame and that our lives become an offering to it. Without such an inner fire, Self-realization may elude us whatever else we may attempt. Therefore, it is important to look at Self-inquiry not simply as a mental practice but as an energetic movement of consciousness like the rising up of a great fire. Vedic Consecration to the Spiritual HeartA Vedic Consecration to the Spiritual Heart The heart (hridaya) is the seat of the Self or Atman in Vedantic thought. Realization of the Self in the heart is the main Vedantic formulation of Moksha or liberation. The Upanishads laud the Self in the heart in many verses and make it the object of many vidyas (ways of knowledge). So do many other Vedantic texts up to modern times. When we refer to ourselves we point to the heart. Compared to the heart, the mind is just our computer system where we hold our information, not our real consciousness or self-identity. | | | Self Realization:
Meditation and BreathMeditation and Breath Meditation is the practice of turning the attention from outer awareness to inner concentration. In the practice of Kundalini Maha Yoga, meditation is much more than a relaxation technique. It is a way of easing resistance to the ascent of the Kundalini energy by quieting the fluctuations of the mind. Of all the forms of meditation, meditation through attention on the breath is the simplest and most direct way to Self-realization. Read more here: » Kundalini Maha Yoga:

 | | | Self Realization: Yoga For
Self-RealisationYoga has eight steps for self-realization. Of these two are most important. These need to be mastered before heading towards the other six because without these the asanas will end up being just mere exercises to keep the body fit. The first two steps are called Yam and Niyam . These need to be followed internally for preparing oneself for the higher consciousness. Read more here: » Yam and Niyam: Yoga For
