 | | | Self-help - Criticisms:
Any Fool Can Criticize, and Most Fools DoMany of us almost daily stab the ones we love. We use invisible knives that do not draw blood. The weapon of choice is CRITICISM. The harm we do is just as vile as that produced by a real knife. Our criticism tears down others' self-esteem. They feel unloved and experience self-doubt. Before their wounds have time to heal, we stab them again and again in the same place. How can we be so cruel? Perhaps we are deceived because our weapon and the victim's wounds are invisible. Why are we so vicious? Because of our own insecurities. How can we improve? Read more here: » Criticism:

 | | | Self-help - Criticisms: Encyclopedia II - Tony Robbins - CriticismCritics claim that some of his ideas, such as that the energy of food can be measured in Hertz, are pseudoscience, and that the methods are really nothing new, but are simply attractively packaged pieces of existing self-help methods borrowed from other sources, mixed with hyperbole and anecdotal evidence. Critics also claim that Robbins' products are overly revenue-focused; packages such as "Personal Power II" are marketed as complete self-development systems, but critics claim that Robbins frequently withholds information and urges the use ...

 | | | Self-help - Criticisms: Encyclopedia II - Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry - HistoryCARM was founded in October 1995 by Matt Slick. CARM began as a collection of information Slick had gathered from his studies of other religions and of groups often considered by orthodox Christians to be cults, including Unitarian Universalists, Christian Scientists, Seventh Day Adventists, Jehovah's Witnesses, Universalists, and Mormons. The site then grew to include several more topics related to Christian theology and apologetics.
CARM is now one of the largest apologetics websites: it offers text in five languages (English, Spani ...

Censorship of music - Airplay censorship.
A classic example of partial censorship in the UK is the single "God Save the Queen", by the Sex Pistols, released by Virgin Records on May 27th, 1977. The sale of this single, that coincided with the Queen's silver jubilee celebrations, was not banned. However, the track was barred for airplay on BBC's Radio 1, then the most popular radio channel in the UK. This public service broadcaster censored this single, that reached Number 2 in the charts, because of its lyrics. I ...

 | | | Self-help - Criticisms: Encyclopedia II - Outing - MotivesWhile one may reveal secrets or private details about others lives for many reasons including personal malice or commercial gain, outing is motivated by political advocacy and journalistic reportage. Outing should not only reveal the hypocrisy of those in what Branch terms the "closets of power" but also further awareness of the presense of gay people and political issues, thus showing that being gay and lesbian is not "so utterly grotesque that it should ...

 | | | Self-help - Criticisms: Encyclopedia II - Outing - CriticismSome in the gay rights movement continue to disapprove of outing as a political tactic, arguing that even anti-gay conservatives have a right to personal privacy which should be respected. Steven Fisher, a spokesman for the Human Rights Campaign, the largest advocacy group for gay and lesbian issues in the United States, commenting on the Schrock outing, said he opposed using "sexual orientation as a weapon." Christopher Barron, political director of the Log Cabin Republicans, a group representing gay and lesbian Republicans said: "We disagr ...

Outing - Germany.
Magnus Hirschfeld's Scientific Humanitarian Committee debated outing in 1902 and decided against it. However, when Adolf Brand, founder of Der Eigene, contributed to the Harden-Eulenburg Affair by outing "hypocrites" such as Chaplan Dasbach, leader of the antireform Center party, and Prince von Bülow, Hirschfeld testified in favor of the outers. This damaged the support, funding, and membership of his Committee. Brand was convicted of libel against von Bulow and sentenced to eighteen mon ...
