Scientific Research on Spirituality: Encyclopedia II - Institute for Creation Research - Criticism
The ICR has received harsh criticism from some scientific and religious leaders. Liberal scholars accuse them of regarding Genesis as a 20th century history book instead of an ancient book of primarily spiritual meaning. Fundamentalist Christians such as the ICR identify the six yom of Creation in Genesis 1 as 24 hour days versus ages. Geologist Bill Hoesch of the ICR claimed this has been the unaminous view of Christians and Jew ...

Scientific Research on Spirituality: Encyclopedia - Parapsychology

Parapsychology is the study of the evidence of mental awareness or influence of external objects without interaction from known physical means. Spirituality and Science: Two Ways to Arrive at the Truth

Some of the greatest scientists have attributed their sparks of genius to spiritual inspiration. "I assert that cosmic religious experience is the strongest and the noblest driving force behind scientific research," said Albert Einstein.

Scientists today are striving to discover how creation came into being, and how human beings came to be. A state-of-the-art space telescope has been able to detect some of the earliest moments of the Big Bang. By picking up signals from several light years away, we are able to glimpse at the early universe, whose light is only now reaching us, billions of years later. Will we ever be able to discover the secret of creation?

Scientific Research on Spirituality: How are your Heart and Brain connected to God?

What is the brain’s unique role in connecting a human being to what many call God? New scientific information about the human heart identifies it as the very first connection point between the physical body and its Creator source. Amazing recent evidence indicates that the heart begins to beat in the unborn fetus even before the brain is formed so it appears that the heart truly holds primary status as the initiator of human life.

Scientific Research on Spirituality: Indigo kids - Does the science fly?

James Twyman is convinced that there's a new generation of special children among us who are psychically sensitive and spiritually evolved.

Those who follow metaphysics and ancient spiritual teachings have for years quietly nurtured the belief in these kids, known as Indigo children for the deep blue color of the "auras" psychics say they see around them.

Skeptics point out that there's no scientific research backing up the existence of these children, and Twyman, 43, knows that's true.

"Certainly in the scientific realm, this is just a bunch of New Age nonsense," says Twyman, "But I think anyone with an inquisitive and rational mind can look at many children out there today and say there's something about them."

Scientific Research on Spirituality: The keys to integrating spirituality and science

Our scientific understanding has undermined many conventional approaches to spirituality at the very time we most need to strengthen these capacities. The source of the difficulty may hold the key to the solution. Science is widely accepted because it works. It looks at the world as it is searching for the simplest possible description. Discovery of simple descriptive laws has led to enormous power to control the phenomena the laws describe feeding our technical prowess. It was only possible to do this by divorcing science from feeling and values so one could see what is and not what one wants to see.

Scientific Research on Spirituality: Free Your Self From Moha And Krodha

Buddhists do not deny that a conventional reality exists 'out there'. It appears substantial, solid, permanent and self-existent. In fact were it not so, then all scientific research would be futile, for, the main concern of science is to investigate the ultimate nature of reality of the physical universe.

The madhyamika prasangika view of Mahayana Buddhism postulates that though beings exist in the conventional world, their existence is only through nomination, designation and mental imputation. When an investigation is made into the ultimate nature of phenomena and persons, a permanent self-existing entity cannot be found.

Scientific Research on Spirituality: The Holographic Universe

This very, very exciting article actually gives a scientific theory behind many spiritual viewpoints and spiritual experiences, including enlightenment and the perception of oneness encountered by many people that have had strong spiritual experiences.

It all started 1982 at the University of Paris. A research team led by physicist Alain Aspect performed what may turn out to be one of the most important experiments of the 20th century. Aspect and his team discovered that under certain circumstances subatomic particles such as electrons are able to instantaneously communicate with each other regardless of the distance separating them. After this, it didn’t take long before the idea of a holographic universe was created. But the implications of this are truly mind boggling…

Scientific Research on Spirituality: Finding Answers In The Mystic's Lab

Since the beginning, human beings have sought answers to spiritual questions, motivated by a basic urge to understand the meaning of life. Our search for answers has led us to believe in a divine being.

This belief in divine power dominated world thought until about 500 years ago when scientific discoveries and innovations began to shake our faith in God. But science also proved to be a false god, leaving many in despair,

Ever since I can remember stories of holy men and women in the mountaintops and forests of India living in enlightened states of divine union have fascinated me. In this article, Kiara Windrider share his experience from his personal journey and quest for Awakening.

Anthroposophy, also called spiritual science by its founder, Rudolf Steiner is a spiritual philosophy and approach to investigating non-physical levels of, and influences on, reality.
