Sankalpa Yoga: Celebrate Life With Sankalpa Yoga

Sankalpa Yoga is ‘reso-will’, the power that is born of resolve, will and determination. This esoteric yogic science was widely practised 5 ,000 years ago. But the misuse of the power of Sankalpa Yoga led to a great deal of destruction. Over time, this form of yoga slipped into oblivion, but it was preserved and guarded by Himalayan masters.

Sankalpa Yoga: Beyond Consciousnes - Sankalpa Yoga

Sankalpa Yoga is 'reso-will', the power that is born of resolve, will and determination. This esoteric yogic science was widely practised 5,000 years ago.

Sankalpa Yoga is the science of creation. Like everything in nature, gyana (knowledge) comes through sankalpa. Sankalpa Yoga does not belong to anyone in particular, nor is it registered by any organisation. It belongs to all those who want to practise it. There is no one to command you, no bondage, no milestones.

Sankalpa Yoga: Mental Discipline (Bhava)

It is the mind that really does all actions. A desire arises in your mind and then you think. Then you proceed to act. The determination of the mind is put into action. First there is Sankalpa or thought and then comes action.

From "Easy Steps to Yoga" by Sri Swami Sivananda.

Sankalpa Yoga: Facts About Mind

Mind is not only daily made, but hourly made. In every minute it changes its colour and shape like a chameleon. It is very wavering and unsteady (Chanchalam and Asthiram).

Sankalpa Yoga: Conquest of Mind

The mind can be controlled by Abhyasa and Vairagya. Abhyasa is constant effort to fix the mind on God or Atman. Vairagya is dispassion or non-attachment to sensual objects.

Sankalpa Yoga: How To Awaken The Kundalini

One should become perfectly desireless and should be full of Vairagya before attempting to awaken Kundalini. It can be awakened only when a man rises above Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Mada and other impurities. Kundalini can be awakened through rising above desires of the senses. The Yogi, who has got a pure heart and a mind free from passions and desires will be benefited by awakening Kundalini. If a man with a lot of impurities in the mind awakens the Sakti by sheer force through Asanas, Pranayamas and Mudras, he will break his legs and stumble down. He will not be able to ascend the Yogic ladder.

Excerpt from the book Kundalini Yoga by Sri Swami Sivananda.

Sankalpa Yoga: Who Am I?

This is a world of diversity. Intellects are different. Faces are different. Religions are different. Sounds are different. Faiths are different. Colours are different. Faculties are different. Tastes and temperaments are different. But one thing is common in all. Everyone of us wants Nitya Sukha (eternal happiness), infinite knowledge, immortality, freedom and independence. These things can be obtained by knowledge of the Self alone.

Sankalpa Yoga: Sai Baba's Words of Mercy, Action, Love

Shraddha and saburi form the crux of Shirdi Sai Baba's message. By shraddha , he meant absolute faith in the guru, to look upon the teacher as God, an avatar of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Baba said: ''Do not try to get mantras or discourses from anybody. My guru never taught me any mantra. But having faith and confidence in your guru is everything. Look at me wholeheartedly and I in turn look at you similarly.''

Sankalpa Yoga: How to Steady the Mind

The external objects are continuously acting upon the brain. The sense-impressions reach the brain through sense-avenues and produce mental stimuli. Now you are conscious of the external objects. Consciousness may be caused by an awakening either by external stimulus, i.e., stimulus from a sense-impression or an internal stimulus through memory.

Sankalpa Yoga: The Living Tradition of Sahaj Marg

Sahaja Yoga: The Living Tradition of Sahaj Marg

The Raja Yoga system known as "Sahaj Marg" is still relatively obscure in the West, even among Yoga aficionados. This is largely due to the fact that Sahaj Marg has been a low-key, word-of-mouth practice. Works by the lineage of Sahaj Marg Masters, published under the auspices of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM), are difficult to locate, and beyond the abhyasis or practitioners of Sahaj Marg, few are aware that SRCM centers have been established worldwide since the Mission was founded in India fifty years ago.
