Sanctify

A selection of articles related to Sanctify:

The largest Hindu temple in Europe based on the architecture of the Tirupati Tirumala temple is being opened during a five-day religious festival in Tividale, near Birmingham. More than 10,000 devotees are expected to attend a number of rituals scheduled to sanctify the Sri Venkateswara (Balaji) temple. Several sculptors and artisans have worked on intricate carvings in and around the temple.

The tradition of sanctifying various trees and plants dates back to the Vedic period. Though wood as a fuel was a basic need and trees in general were treated with care and respect, some trees such as the Peepal, Banyan and Neem, commanded more respect than others. The Tulsi (Basil) plant was grown in every household in the centre of the courtyard and ritually watered

* Sanctified Sexuality

Tantra: Sanctified Sexuality
The TANTRIC philosophy itself includes in its theory all the levels of the Universe and gives a paramount importance to astronomy, biology, parapsychology, anatomy, meditation, medicine, music, art and even sexuality. In fact, the sexual experience, considered to be a unification of the Everlasting Male (+) and Everlasting Female (-) principles, has a very important place in TANTRIC techniques and procedures which are often profoundly erotic.

* Man and Environment: A Symbiotic Bond

The tradition of sanctifying various trees and plants dates back to the Vedic period. Though wood as a fuel was a basic need and trees in general were treated with care and respect, some trees such as the Peepal, Banyan and Neem, commanded more respect than others.

The Tulsi (Basil) plant was grown in every household in the centre of the courtyard and ritually watered. The rituals served an important purpose - they made people aware of the environment and its importance and so indirectly helped preserve and nurture it.

* The Ten Scriptural Samskaras

The rites that pertain to the stages of life of man are called Samskaras. The Samskaras are purificatory rites which sanctify the life of the Hindu. They give a spiritual touch to the important events in the life of the individual from conception to cremation. They mark the important stages of a mans life. Just as the outline of a picture is lighted up slowly with the filling in of many colours, so also is Brahmanya with scriptural Samskaras. There are the Samskaras of childhood, of boyhood, of manhood and of old age and death.

* Milarepa

Milarepa
Milarepa was one who had been profoundly impressed from his youth by the transient and impermanent nature of all conditions of worldly existence and by the sufferings and wretchedness in which he saw all beings immersed.

* Raising Kundalini With Sahaj Yog

The word ' Yog ’ is derived from the verb yuj which means to yoke, to join, to connect. The end of life is to yoke oneself to the holy spirit i.e., the Paramchaitanya. Hindu scriptures enlighten us on the various ways or margas of doing so. The union with the holy spirit is possible through Gyan Yog, Karma Yog, Bhakti Marg, Mantra Yog, Raj Yog, Sanyas Marg or Hath Yog.

The rishi-munis have particularly adopted the Gyan Yog which is possible only through Dhyan . For the householder, Karma Yog and Bhakti Marg are the most practical ways of attaining moksha. Ascetics have developed the knowledge of mantra-tantra . Hath Yogis have evolved various Aasanas, postures and occult practices for awakening the Kundalini. Shri Aadishakti Shri Mataji Nirmaladevi has advocated the Sahaj Yog for householders to attain the Parmachaitanya through the raising of the Kundalini.

* Lohri Celebrates the Spirit of Life

The festival of Lohri marks the beginning of the end of winter and the coming of spring and the new year. The fires lit at night, the hand-warming, the song and dance and the coming together of an otherwise atomised community, are only some of the features of this festival. The Lohri of north India coincides with Pongal in Tamil Nadu, Samkranti in Bengal, Magha Bihu in Assam, Tai Pongal in Kerala, all celebrated on the auspicious day of Makar Sankranti .

* Open Your Mind With Songs of God

Bhagavan stuti: Open Your Mind With Songs of God
Stuti literally means praise and a stotram is a hymn or song dedicated to God's glory. Is it necessary to praise the Lord? Would He be affected by our praises and does He really need them? What could be the benefits that accrue from singing His glory? From our experiences of dealing with the empirical world, we understand it is natural to appreciate someone who has performed well.

* Soniaji, Hinduism is Not Just Ramayana!

Soniaji, Hinduism is Not Just Ramayana
Today, one major Indian political party talks about Hindutva, while the other seems confused about its strategy. Mrs Sonia Gandhi and the Congress have been hauled over the coals by the media for flirting with 'soft Hindutva'. But nobody seems to have noticed that the two parties are essentially squabbling over a trivialised interpretation of phenomenology, whereas the vast treasures of ontology found in Hinduism are lying around, waiting to be claimed.

* Are Hindus idol worshipers?

Basics of Hinduism: Are Hindus idol worshipers?
Hindus do not worship a stone or metal "idol" as God. We worship God through the image. We invoke the presence of God from the higher, unseen worlds, into the image so that we can commune with Him and receive His blessings.

* Are You a Monkey Or a Kitten? - about faith

Our ancient rishis identified among men and women two contrasting attitudes towards life. While some of us worry, ever anxious about security in life, some others repose their faith in Providence, and so rest assured.

The rishis named these two attitudes as the markat-kishore-nyaya - law of the baby-monkey, and marjaala-kishore-nyaya - law of the kitten.

Most Revered Hindu Pilgrimages in India

Unity in diversity is what the people of India represent and this diversity in customs and traditions followed by Indians since ages have contributed significantly in shaping up Hinduism and various Hindu rituals. Prolonged interaction among the diverse groups led to the advent of "Vedism" which introduced the worship of gods of rain, fire and the sun.

Naznet Makes A Sanctified God Cry

NazNet, set up as a site friendly to the holiness Church of the Nazarene has gone for anti-Bible teachings such as are popular now in the emergent church.

What are Pilgrimages

A pilgrimage is an invitation from God to take a walk or to travel a route toward a sacred place to which the pilgrim is ushered into the presence of God.The pilgrimage is a happy, glorious time with the presence of God all around you as you walk, take food and water. The route is toward God and the walk is a physical trial of your travel toward God. Your future pilgrimages will also be a combination of past and present travels.
