The games are based on karaoke singing in which an amateur singer sings a popular song while it plays without vocals. The games are able to sense the pitch of the singer's voice and award points based on how well the singer matches the pitches he's supposed to be singing. Karaoke Revolution requires the use of a USB microphone. A microphone headset made by Logitech is available in a bundle with the games and is also sold separately; Logitech also sells a hand-held karaoke microphone. Saint Seiya: Encyclopedia II - Karaoke Revolution - Gameplay

The player is depicted as a character on-screen performing at one of several venues, such as a subway station, a carnival, or a football halftime show. The words to the song scroll right-to-left at the bottom of the screen, above a piano roll representation of the relative pitches at which they are to be sung (the game calls these "note tubes"). Saint Seiya: Encyclopedia II - Death personification - Death as a fictional character

The character of Death is typically depicted in the West as wearing a dark hooded cloak and wielding a scythe. Death is one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. In many icons of the resurrection of Jesus, death is portrayed as an almost naked man who is bound hand and foot lying amid the bones under the earth. In Eastern Orthodox theology, death is one of humanity's three enemies; the other two are sin and the devil. This figure of Death is also known as the Grim Reaper. Death, in this guise, appears also on one of the Tarot arcana ...

Saint Seiya: Encyclopedia II - Hades - Hades: the place

There were several sections of Hades, including the Elysian Fields (contrast the Christian Paradise or Heaven), and Tartarus, (compare the Christian Hell). Greek mythographers were not perfectly consistent about the geography of the afterlife. A contrasting myth of the Afterlife concerns the Garden of the Hesperides, often identified with the Isles of the Blessed. In Roman mythology, an entrance to the underworld located at Avernus, a crater near Cumae, was the route Aeneas used to descend to the Underworld. By synecdoche, "Avernus" could be substituted for the underworld as a whole. The Inferi ...
