Reiki-Alchemia: Encyclopedia - Reiki

Reiki is claimed by its adherents to be a technique for healing physical or mental disease. Reiki was formulated during the early 20th century by Mikao Usui (usui mikao 臼井甕男) in Japan. Practitioners use a technique similar to the laying on of hands in which they claim that they act as channels for Reiki energy — which they say flows through their palms to specific parts of the body in order to facilitate healing. Scientific studies have not confirmed the existence of this specific Reiki energy. Most of the e ...

REIKI-ALCHEMIA

Reiki-alchemia utilizes keys of different geometric shapes to trigger states of consciousness which allow healing and vibrational attunements to occur. Reiki-alchemia combines the traditional reiki of Mikao Usui with the alchemia process, which creates a passive and active blend of energies in the healing.

The practitioner facilitates transformation by working with the universal life force, and the four forces that govern all states of consciousness. Alchemia is a form of bodywork that incorporates techniques that release etheric, as well as subconscious energy blockages and stored trauma.

The ultimate intent of reiki-alchemia is to achieve a functional ego state that facilitates unconditional love. (Adapted from Holistic Health Directory.)

Reiki: While there are many paths to wholeness, Reiki complements them all. Reiki is not so much a pathway to love and wholeness in and of itself, rather it reveals patterns of wholeness and love to us.

Reiki-Alchemia: Reiki Natural Healing

Reiki (ray-key) is a Japanese word for Universal Life Force and a system of natural healing that channels Reiki through the hands. The traditional Asian medical paradigm views injury, dysfunction and disease as manifesting when subtle energies are weak, distorted or out-of-balance. Reiki accesses the source of Life to heal the self and others on spiritual, mental, emotional and physical levels.

Reiki-Alchemia: Teaching Reiki to Children

Reiki is an ancient healing practice that involves using universal healing energy to heal physical and emotional wounds. Teaching Reiki to children started with my two year old daughter Mayah. Or maybe it was her teaching me? Her openness and willingness to send healing energy to others has been eye opening to all who have seen her.

She began at a healing group I take her to regularly. Mayah has sent energy to people on the table, and has on occasion gotten on the table herself to accept healing from others. This is what opened me to consider teaching Reiki to the crystal children of the world. These children are already gifted with healing and psychic abilities, and it is our job as their parents, guardians, grandparents etc. to guide and assist our children to understand and explore their healing gifts. Reiki is a perfect place to begin as is simple and easy for children to learn.

According to followers of Mokichi Okada, Johrei is a method of channeling divine light into the body of a patient through the palm of the administrator. To do this, the administrator holds his/her hand about a foot away from the area to which the spiritual power is purported to be directed. See also. Reiki New Age ...

Reiki-Alchemia: Encyclopedia - Self-realization

In Yoga, Self-realization is knowledge of one's true self. This true self is also referred to as the atma to avoid ambiguity. The term "self-realization" is a translation of the Sanskrit expression atma jnana (knowledge of the self or atma). The reason the term "realization" is used instead of "knowledge" is that jnana refers to knowledge based on experience, not mere intellectual knowledge. As discussed in the article on yoga, while the goal of self-realization is the same in all yoga paths, the means used to ach ...

Reiki-Alchemia: Encyclopedia - Tumo

Tumo (also spelled Tummo, or Tum-mo ) is a Tibetan term for an advanced type of meditation practiced by those wishing to attain enlightenment within a single lifetime. Tummo practice can cause an intense sensation of body heat to arise. Tummo is taught as one part of the six yogas of Naropa. Stories and eyewitness accounts abound of yogi practitioners being able to generate sufficient heat to dry wet sheets draped around their naked bodies while sitting outside in the freezing cold, not just once, but multiple times. These observations have also been discussed in medic ...

Reiki-Alchemia: Encyclopedia - Laying on of hands

The laying on of hands is a religious practice found throughout the world in varying forms. In Christian churches, this practice is used as both a symbolic and formal method of invoking the Holy Spirit during baptisms, healing services, and ordination of priests, ministers, elders, deacons, and other church officers, along with a variety of other church sacraments and holy ceremonies. In its "healing" form, the laying on of hands is based on biblical precedent set by Jesus. This is a popular Jesuit ceremony in which prayer for ...

Reiki-Alchemia: Encyclopedia II - Reiki - Reiki community

While there is no single standards organization and practitioners practice as they will, some choose to form Reiki communities to bring together often diverse knowledge and experience. Some of these communities have grown out of informal groupings of practitioners who organized Reiki circles for working together, while others have formed around a particular school or teacher. Many Reiki communities also emerged due, in part, to the expanding popularity of the internet. Global initiatives have been introduced to Reiki communities thereby ("healing the planet" or "global peace fostering" for example) and onli ...

Reiki-Alchemia: Encyclopedia - Kundalini

Kundalini is derived from a Sanskrit word meaning either "coiled up" or "coiling like a snake". There are a number of other translations of the term usually emphasizing a more serpent nature to the word— e.g. 'serpent power'. The caduceus symbol of coiling snakes is thought to be an ancient symbolic representation of Kundalini physiology. The concept of Kundalini comes from Yogic philosophy of ancient India and refers to the mothering intelligence behind yogic awakening and spiritual maturation (Sovatsky, 1998). It mig ...

Reiki-Alchemia: Encyclopedia - Faith healing

Faith healing, or divine healing, is the use of solely spiritual means in treating disease, sometimes accompanied with the refusal of modern medical techniques. Another term for this is spiritual healing. Faith healing is a form of alternative medicine. Faith healing - Christian faith healing. The term is sometimes used in reference to the belief of some Christians who hold that God heals people through the power of the Holy Spirit, often involving the "laying on of hands". Those who hold to t ...

Reiki-Alchemia: Encyclopedia II - Reiki - Reiki's origin

The provenance of Usui's system is obscure, little independent documentation exists as to his influences. There are superficial resemblances to Chinese Taoist and Buddhist philosophies in the Reiki symbol terminology. Reiki however fails the standard test of whether a teaching is Buddhist or not; that of the three "Dharma Seals" or the "Three marks of existence". This doctrine states that any teaching or practice that does not extol these three core ideas cannot be said to be a Buddhist teaching, and Reiki does not. Reiki may however be said ...

Reiki-Alchemia: Encyclopedia II - Reiki - Non-traditional Reiki

The independent movement developed partly in response to the belief that Reiki training should be more widely available and practiced in a flexible and complementary way with other practices, and as a political reaction to the mainstream of Hawayo Takata's style. Furthermore, some practitioners believe that Reiki is humanity's birthright. New paths were developed out of the Reiki core that fused it with New Age thinking regarding wicca, shamanism, channeling and so forth. Also, new symbols and practices are often added. Many of these symbols ...

Reiki-Alchemia: Encyclopedia II - Reiki - Controversies

Because of the lack of objective evidence for its theories or its results, and the mystical language and metaphor employed by its adherents, the scientific establishment considers Reiki to be nothing more than a placebo. Many scientists, traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, health professionals and others dispute the effectiveness of Reiki, stating that there is no proof or evidence that a mechanism for Reiki energy exists, nor proof that healing beyond that expected from th ...

Mikao Usui's Reiki method spread all over the world. Correspondence courses over the internet even offer distance training. To achieve a complete education in the "Usui method of Reiki Healing," three courses are necessary: the 1st degree course, the 2nd degree course, and the master course. The specific content of each of these courses varies widely from one teacher to another, depending on personal philosophies. A typical set of courses ...

Reiki-Alchemia: Encyclopedia II - Reiki - History

A Japanese Tendai Buddhist named Mikao Usui claimed to have "rediscovered" Reiki. After long meditation, fasting, and prayer, Usui claimed that, through a mystical revelation, he had gained the knowledge and spiritual power to apply and attune others to "Reiki's" healing energy. Mikao Usui claimed that he could enable his students to enlarge their access to the energy through certain initiations. Usui taught that attunement to the energy enhances and refines a person's ability to connect with this already occurring natural healing energy. Th ...

The word 'reiki' is a generic term which can be and is used for many techniques. The information below may or may not apply to anything called 'reiki.' Some schools teach that Reiki energy enters the practitioner through the 7th (crown or Shasrara) chakra, fills the practitioner's aura and flows through her or his hands into the body of the recipient. It is also taught that Reiki energy enters through the 1st (root or Muladhara) chakra at the base of the spine, fills the aura, becomes centered in the 4th (heart or ...
