Main article: Origins of the blues
Blues has evolved from the spare music of poor black laborers into a wide variety of complex styles and subgenres, spawning regional variations across the United States and, later, Europe, Africa and elsewhere. What is now considered "blues" as well as modern "country music" arose at approximately the same time and place during the nineteenth century in the southern United States. Recorded blues and country can be found from as far bac ...

 | | | redneck: Encyclopedia - BluesThe blues is a vocal and instrumental form of music based on a pentatonic scale and a characteristic twelve-bar chord progression. The form evolved in the United States in the communities of former African slaves from spirituals, praise songs, field hollers, shouts, and chants. The use of blue notes and the prominence of call-and-response patterns in the music and lyrics are indicative of the blues' West African pedigree. The blues has been a major influence on later American and Western popular music, finding expression in ragtime, jazz, bluegrass, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, hip-hop, and count ...

 | | | redneck: Encyclopedia II - Saturday Night Live TV show sketches - The Mr. Bill ShowMr. Bill is the clay figurine star of a series of short subjects shown from 1976 to 1980 on Saturday Night Live (SNL). The "Mr. Bill Show" was a parody of children's shows.
Mr. Bill got its start when Walter Williams sent SNL a Super-8 reel featuring the character in response to the show's request for home movies. Williams became a full-time writer for the show in 1978, writing over twenty skits based on Mr. Bill.
Each Mr. Bill episode would start innocently enough, but would quickly turn dangerous for Mr. Bill. A ...

Flags of the Confederate States of America - First National Flag The Stars and Bars.
The first official flag of the Confederacy was The Stars and Bars, which was flown from March 5, 1861 to May 1863. It caused confusion on the battlefield because it was so similar to the Stars and Stripes of the Union forces. Eventually, a total of thirteen stars would be shown on the flag.

 | | | redneck: Encyclopedia II - Reno 911! - PremiseReno 911! is in some respects a parody of the long-running television show COPS. The show features the members of a fictional Washoe County, Nevada sheriff's department (based in Reno), who are videotaped by a camera operator during the course of their duties, sometimes addressing the camera directly as though being interviewed. The joke, of course, is that they are terrible cops who cheat, lie, drink, steal, plant evidence, brutalize citizens and display general incompetence at their jobs. The force also has problems with raci ...

3Live Kru - The Beginning.
3LK began as an on-screen entity on June 18, 2003. In the preceeding weeks, Konnan, James and Killings appeared together on the pay-per-views in varying combinations, but June 18 was the first time all three appeared together. At first, they did spots where the three of them were making fun of other TNA wrestlers and, at times, each other. They also began wrestling together as a three-man tandem in dark matches and on TNA Xplosion. Starting on July 16 of that year, they began wit ...

Street sign theft - Popular culture examples.
Penny Lane and Abbey Road, caused by the Beatles (See above).
Brickyard Road, Clay County, Florida (See above). Fans repeatedly stole the road sign because lead singer Ronnie Van Zant was living there before his death in 1977 and his brother, Johnny Van Zant, released an album and single called Brickyard Road in 1990.
The county eventually erected a concrete pillar with the street name painted on it, as opposed to a traditional road sign.[1]
