| | | | | receptors: Transform Yourself With Mantra Yoga
Chanting mantras inspires the body to heal itself, the mind to become calm and the soul to grow strong. Chanting makes room for divine energies. Mantras are vibrations - they unlock hidden centres and help to dissolve the ego; they help us build invisible tools for shaping a better life. We start discovering resources within. A young farmer, simple and ego-less, was rearing goats. One day a realised soul in ordinary attire visited him. The poor farmer welcomed him with respect without knowing that he was a great guru. Affectionately, he offered goat milk to the visitor. The guru left after some time. His blessings created a great spiritual armour around the farmer, unbeknownst to him.

Yoga and the Three GunasVedic Yoga and the Three Gunas
The Vedas present a vast pantheon of
deities (devatas) on many different levels, often said to be innumerable or
infinite in number. One of the main early efforts to classify the Vedic Gods
(as in the Brihad Devata of Shaunaka) was to reduce them to the three prime
deities for the three worlds.
Agni
or Fire on Earth (Prithivi)
Vayu or
Wind in the Atmosphere (Antariksha)
Surya
or the Sun in Heaven (Dyaus)
These three deities are three
aspects of the One God or the Purusha, the supreme consciousness principle and
higher Self that is pure light.

Initiation - Awakening the KundaliniShaktipat Initiation - Awakening the Kundalini
Kundalini can be awakened by attaining perfection of certain hatha
yoga postures called asanas, by certain breathing exercises aimed at
controlling the breath called pranayama, by God's grace, by
meditation or by intense devotion.
Another technique of
great importance is Shaktipat, the transmission of energy. A powerful yogi can
transmit energy to an aspirant and awaken the Kundalini. This is accomplished
in one of four ways: by touch, gaze, sound or thought.

| | | | receptors: Mantra Yoga - A Tool For Great Inner Order
Detachment is a great wealth. Devotion is the real asset in life. Why does man not work for such a wealth? This is due to the fact that the mind has not been purified. Impure mind craves impure things. Mantras help us to purify the mind and uplift the quality of life. Mantra yoga is all about working on purifying the mind. The object of yoga is to lift a person off the psychological mess he rests upon.

| | | | receptors: Karma YogaKarma Yoga - The Yoga of Action
Karma yoga joins both the physical and
mental aspects of Hindu philosophy to produce a single concept. It believes
that the present relies on the past and that in turn, with your actions, you
can alter the future. Selflessness is a primary requirement for karma practice.
Steering your actions towards the good Ð saying good, thinking good, doing good
will all facilitate selflessness. Acting this way eliminates egoistic and
negative behaviour and enables you to influence your destiny.

Bhakti Yoga Dictionary on Baddha-jiva
Baddha-jiva - the conditioned soul who is bound by matter. With regard to the origin of the baddha-jiva this passage states that Bhagavan’s eternal associates in the spiritual world do not have any contact with and are completely unaffected by the material energy. Only some of the jivas that emanate from Maha-Visnu come into the material world. The original Bengali is as follows: goloka-vrndavanastha evam paravyoma-stha baladeva o sankarsanaprakatita nitya-parsada jiva-sakala ananta; tanhara upasya-sevaya rasika; sarvada svarupartha-visista; upasya-sukhanvesi upasyera prati sarvada unmukha jiva saktite cit-saktite bala labha kariya tanhara sarvada balavan; mayara sahita tahandera kona sambandha nai; mayasakti baliya kona sakti achena, tahao tanhara avagata nana; ye hetu tanhara cit-mansala-madhyavarti evam maya tanhadera nikata haite aneka dure; tanhara sarvadai upasya-seva-sukhe magna; dukha, jasa-sukha o nija-sukha ity adi kakhani janena na. tanhara nitya-mukta premai tanhadera jivana; soka, marana au bhaya ye ki vastu, taha tanhara janena na. karanabdha-sayi-maha-visnura mayara prati iksana-rupa kiranagata anu-caitanya-gana o ananta; tanhara maya-parsva-sthita baliya mayara vicitrata tanhadera darsana-patharusa-purve ye jivasadharanera laksana baliyachi, se samasta laksana tanhadera ache, tathapi atyanta anu-svabhava-prayukta sarvada tatastha-bhave citjagatera dike evam maya-jagatera dike drstipata karite thakena. e avasthaya jiva atyanta durbala, kenana, - justa va sevye-vastura krpalabha karatah cid-bala labha karena nai. inhadera madhye ye saba jiva maya-bhoga vasana karena, tanhara mayika-visaye abhinivista haiya mayate nitya-baddha. yanhara sevya-vastur cidanusilana karena, tanhara sevya-tattvena krpara sahita cid-bala labha karatah cid-dhame nita hana; baba! amara durbhaga, krsnera nityadasya bhuliya mayabhinivesa dvara mayabadha achi; ataeva svarupartha-hina haiyai amadera e durdasa.

| | | | | | | receptors: Choose Between Bhoga and Yoga
The broad spectrum of choices available to humans may be categorised into bhoga , roga and yoga. While the first two present a cause and effect syndrome, the latter opens up higher possibilities at the moral and spiritual levels. The practice of yoga can help us tide over the evil effects of indulgence; thus saving us from roga . Those who opt for bhoga , live life at the animalistic level. The satisfaction of organic needs is their sole concern. An excessive obsession with bhoga leads to roga . Roga refers to physical and mental maladies. Medically too, over-indulgence affects both the digestive and nervous systems resulting in a wide range of diseases. Moral degradation, ethical decline, aesthetic impoverishment and spiritual blindness are natural concomitants.
