Rabindranath Tagore - Early life.
Tagore was born in Jorasanko, Kolkata (Calcutta; Bangla: কলকাতা), the son of Debendranath Tagore and Sarada Devi. Debendranath Tagore formulated the Brahmo faith propagated by his friend, the reformer Raja Ram Mohan Roy.
