 | | | Quiet Dictionary: Balancing and Charging the ChakrasBalancing
and Charging the Chakras
The
energy of your body will not be balanced and free flowing if you do not have
good emotional balance, good physical health, and good relationships with your
surroundings and yourself.
Almost
no one is ever perfectly balanced. If you could do this, you would be able to
rise from the dead, have a body transformed into a cosmic molecular structure and
commune with the gods as an equal.

 | | | Quiet Dictionary: Psychic
Perception, Spiritual Insight, and Inspiration Above the rational mind and below the soul realm is an
intermediary plane of consciousness that I call the intuitional. It is very
difficult to characterize this realm, because it transcends mental concepts but
is still not a realm of being like the soul. The intuitional plane is the
"highest" or most subtle and universal part of the created worlds. Although
God and souls are the truly creative agents of the universe, we could say that
the process of creating begins with the intuition and then moves to concepts,
feeling responses, images and shapes, and finally physical manifestation. Thus
intuition is a key to initiating creativity.

 | | | Quiet Dictionary: Golden Rule and YouWhen I was small, my grandmother told me there was only one main
rule in life upon which all others rested. Then she looked me in the eye and
with quiet conviction pronounced, "Do unto others as you would have
them do unto you."
It is with delight that I discovered over the years that this basic spiritual
law can be found at the heart of many religious and spiritual teachings.

 | | | Quiet Dictionary: How I found the holy in the holidaysHow
I found the holy in the holidays
Merry Christmas. The very words used to
make me want to run and hide.
All my life, the
holiday season has been a time of wishing for something I never got-and what it
seemed like everyone else around me had. Suffice it to say mine was not an
Ozzie and Harriet childhood. As an adult, I grew resentful about the holidays.
I couldnÕt stand pretending I liked Christmas when it was just a reminder to me
of the happy family I never had.

Angels Abound! - About AngelsThe
belief in angelic beings is of course ancient, and spans many cultures. In the
West, many associate angels with Christianity, Judaism and the Bible, but
references to angelic beings can be found in Buddhism, Hinduism,
Zoroastrianism, and Islam. Even some Native American teachings include angels,
and other shamanistic spiritual belief systems include interaction with birds
or other winged creatures who bring guidance. Created prior to these more
"recent" religions, depictions of angelic beings can be found in ancient
Egyptian art, and Isis is traditionally depicted with angel wings. In all of
these religious cultures, angels are believed to be messengers of God, aiding
and guiding humans through life.

 | | | Quiet Dictionary: How to Spend Your HolidaysIn the whirlpool of fleeting sensual
pleasures you have forgotten the purpose of life and goal. You live more for
the body than for the soul. In your pursuit after the phantom shows of worldly
vanities, you have annihilated the spiritual instincts and longings of the
soul. What a sad state! Mysterious is Maya! Mysterious is Moha! Open your eyes
now. Wake up from the long slumber of ignorance. Realise the ultimate Reality
and enjoy eternal bliss.
From "Easy Steps to
Yoga" by Sri Swami Sivananda.

From
perfectionism to perfectionFrom perfectionism to perfection
Everything
had to be perfect.
My perfect life was filled with homemaking, committee work and a
never-ending to-do list. Immaculately organized, the home I shared with my
husband and kids was lovely-but, as they could tell you, it was impossible to
relax in.
All I wanted was to be appreciated. All I accomplished was a
hectic lifestyle that no one understood. I cleaned the house every day except
weekends, going so far as to pick up lint off the carpet every time I climbed
the stairs. Potato chips were counted out equally for each of my children so no
one would feel shortchanged. For picnics, paper products had to be color-coded;
food had to be 100% nutritional, planned weeks ahead and prepared for days.

 | | | Quiet Dictionary: Talking Board BasicsA
wide range of experiences has been reported with "Ouija" or
"talking boards." Like anything in life, the result you get will
depend upon your intentions and expectations going in. Opening up to other
dimensions via such a medium is a bit like walking a tightrope. An innocent who
doesn't know enough to be afraid may sail across the rope just like it was two
feet off the ground. A mature and responsible adult may find the experience
expansive, enlightening, and thrilling. A reckless, thoughtless young person,
on the other hand, who lacks respect for the power of the situation, may find
himself or herself tumbling into an abyss with no net in sight.

 | | | Quiet Dictionary: The Grandparent Connection Grandparents
and grandchildren are often linked by a special affection for each other. There
seems to be a natural bond between them, perhaps because both are a little
outside the rush of life's middle years. When we look deeper into this
relationship, however, we find traces of another pattern. We may discover one
of the pathways connecting birth and death.
