the treatment of psychological disorders or maladjustments by a psychological technique, as psychoanalysis, group therapy, or behavioral therapy.

 

Psychotherapy does not include physiological interventions, such as drug therapy or electroconvulsive therapy, although it may be used in combination with such methods.
