 Over the years I've received some truly disturbing letters at MuseNet and the Journal from people who were panicked or confused because some "psychic" had told them they were cursed or possessed by an evil spirit. Often times these people had spent hundreds of dollars to have these negative influences removed, but the reader kept them coming back for this or that and insisting on more and more money. I've corresponded with people who have literally spent thousands of dollars trying to have "curses" removed.

The belief in angelic beings is of course ancient, and spans many cultures. In the West, many associate angels with Christianity, Judaism and the Bible, but references to angelic beings can be found in Buddhism, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, and Islam. Even some Native American teachings include angels, and other shamanistic spiritual belief systems include interaction with birds or other winged creatures who bring guidance. Created prior to these more "recent" religions, depictions of angelic beings can be found in ancient Egyptian art, and Isis is traditionally depicted with angel wings. In all of these religious cultures, angels are believed to be messengers of God, aiding and guiding humans through life.

Electronic Voice Phenomena

Juergenson was a film producer in Sweden who, in 1959 while making a documentary, had decided to tape bird songs. As he began recording, little did he realize that what was to follow would change the course of not only his earthly life but of that he would lead in the world beyond after his death. When he played the tape back he was startled to hear, in among the tweeting and chirping, his mother's voice say in German, "Friedrich, you are being watched. For many years, I was one of the all-time great skeptics of the phenomenon known as "Soul Mates."
