 | | | Promiscuity: Encyclopedia II - Promiscuity - Dark roomA "dark room" in a bar, etc., takes the promiscuity somewhat further, because the darkness hardly (or not at all) allows selection of a "partner" based on visual appearance and thus on visual aspects of sexual attraction. It complicates practicing safer sex, and if people enter dressed, is also a risk regarding pickpocketing. However, for some people the lack of visual perception has a special charm, allowing one to concentrate more on other senses; it may also provide better opportunities because visual aspects that otherwise form a barrier, including tho ...

 | | | Promiscuity: April 30 - May Eve - Beltaine
(Beltane)April 30 - May Eve - Beltaine 'Beltane' means 'fire of Bel', Belinos being one name for the Sun God, whose coronation feast we now celebrate. As summer begins, weather becomes warmer, and the plant world blossoms, an exuberant mood prevails. It is a time of unabashed sexuality and promiscuity. Young people spend the entire night in the woods 'a-maying', and dance around the phallic Maypole the next morning. Older married couples may remove their wedding rings (and the restrictions they imply) for this one night. May morning is a magical time for 'wild' water (dew, flowing streams, and springs) which is collected and used to bathe in for beauty, or to drink for health. The Christian religion had only a poor substitute for the life-affirming Maypole - namely, the death-affirming cross. Hence, in the Christian calendar, this was celebrated as 'Roodmas'. In Germany, it was the feast of Saint Walpurga, or 'Walpurgisnacht'. An alternative date around May 5 (Old Beltaine), when the sun reaches 15 degrees Taurus, is sometimes employed by Covens. (The name 'Lady Day' is incorrectly assigned to this holiday by some modern traditions of Wicca.) Read more here: » Wiccan Holidays: April 30 - May Eve - Beltaine

 | | | Promiscuity: Encyclopedia - Blonde jokesBlonde jokes are a class of jokes which make light of the stereotype of the blonde woman (or, more rarely, blond man) as unintelligent, sexually promiscuous, or both. Like all humor based on stereotypes, blonde jokes are found offensive by some people. However, they tend not to be as controversial as racial humor or other forms of dark comedy. Many are, in fact, variations on racist jokes that have been adapted specifically to make them less offensive.
A British variant of the blonde joke is the Essex girl joke, which became popular in the late 1980s, and sati ...

 | | | Promiscuity: Encyclopedia II - Virgin - PhysiologyAmong human females, the hymen is a membrane, part of the vulva, which partially occludes the entrance to the vagina and which is often physically torn when the woman first engages in vaginal sexual intercourse. The presence of an intact membrane is therefore often seen as physical evidence of virginity in the broader technical sense. The absence of one, however, is not necessarily an indication of participation in sexual intercourse, since in some women the hymen is either absent from birth, or sufficiently vestigial not to be affected by s ...

 | | | Promiscuity: Encyclopedia II - Virgin - In CultureFemale virginity is closely interwoven with personal or even family honor in many cultures. Traditionally in some cultures (especially those dominated by Christianity, Islam and Judaism, as also Hinduism and the other Indic religions) there has been a widespread belief that the loss of virginity before marriage is a matter of deep shame. In some Muslim countries, this loss has been linked to honor killings.
Traditionally in western marriage ceremonies, a veil is taken as a symbol of the bride's virginity; it is a popular misconception ...
