Pride: The Seat of Power - Pride or Service?

A ministership purports to serve the people. However, if it is perceived as a means to derive pleasure or prestige, it will only infest society with corruption, stymie growth, and lead to moral degradation. Fear and insecurity will grip society, inhibiting humanness.

It is natural for human beings to want to overcome fear and insecurity. Most will do almost anything to feel secure. Consequently there is a struggle for the seat of power. However, those who hanker after power are really powerless. They can accomplish very little even after coming to office. So let's not blame them.

Having confidence in oneself (self-confidence) can grant one more courage, and thus confidence is often viewed as a key to happiness and inner fulfillment. However, although confidence is often encouraged and celebrated, it is not vital to success. People who are cautious and analytical can achieve as much success as bold and impulsive people. Extroverts are not always confident, and introverts are not necessarily lacking in confidence. Yet, confidence, especially self ...

Pride played guitar and sang while touring as a baseball player. In 1958 when he was in Memphis, Charley Pride visited Sun Studio and recorded some songs. Pride: Encyclopedia II - Confidence - Negative Aspects

Although confidence is usually viewed as a positive trait, it can also be a negative trait. Exaggerated pride or over-confidence in oneself can cause one to overestimate one's own abilities. This could lead one to take up tasks that one cannot succeed at, or appear arrogant and conceited in the eyes of others. Having too much confidence in another person or thing can lead to similar problems; confidence in another person can lead to overdependence on them, as well as disappointment if they prove to be undependable. Another example of ...

Pride: Encyclopedia II - Pride and Prejudice - Themes

Marriage plays a large role in Pride and Prejudice. Some characters marry for security, some marry for wealth and some marry for love. The idea of marriage is very important throughout the novel, primarily because it was often the only way for a woman of the period to secure her freedom, social status, and living standard. Social classes are also taken into account and play a major role as a theme in Pride and Prejudice. People of higher class are very proud of themselves and do not like to socialise with those of lower ...

The six members of the Pride who served them best would be allowed to rule over the paradise that Earth would become once the Gibborim achieved their goal.
