Each game in the Alpha series can be seen to be updating the storyline in the previous games. This combined with Capcom's decision to change some of the storyline after the games have been released has made the Street Fighter II story confusing. Each game in the series introduced more characters from Street Fighter II. Characters were also introduced from other games such as Final Fight and the original Street Fighter.

Star Trek: Enterprise - The threat of cancellation. Despite most critics agreeing on the strength of the third season and most episodes of the fourth season receiving near-unanimous praise, the series experienced a continual decline in its ratings. prequel: Encyclopedia II - Stardate - The Original Series

Gene Roddenberry created stardates as an abstract idea without any thought to actual implementation, choosing to leave the idea up to the imaginations of the viewers. As a result, little thought was given to the numbers used in stardates for episodes, except that the numbers for the dates generally increased. But so little care was exercised with the dates that sometimes episode stardates actually overlapped. Wh ...

prequel: Encyclopedia II - Street Fighter series - Series synopsis

Street Fighter series - Street Fighter 1987. Street Fighter made little impact when it was first released in 1987. However, it had a novel control system which involved a joystick and two large hydraulic buttons, where the force of the button press determined the strength of the punch or kick, with three varying strengths of both punches and kicks. Many of these machines, because of players' tendencies to hit the buttons too hard and damage the controls, were retooled to using more traditional buttons, thu ...

prequel: Encyclopedia II - Interstate '76 - Synopsis

The game is set in the southwest United States of America in an alternate version of the year 1976, during the American oil crisis. The game is based on the engine used for Activision's Mechwarrior 2, and requires a fair amount of strategy through the course of the game, as the player must balance the vehicle's armor and weapon loadouts appropriately in order to successfully complete the various missions. There are four play modes available in the game: the "TRIP" (an acronym for "Total Recreational Interactive Production"), wh ...

prequel: Encyclopedia II - Man with No Name - The Character

In three of Leone's most popular films, A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Eastwood plays a character with the same mannerisms, wearing the same poncho and hat. Some fans believe that The Good, the Bad and the Ugly plays as a prequel of sorts to the earlier two — as Eastwood's character gradually acquires the clothing that he wears throughout the other films in the series. However, Christopher Frayling has pointed out in his massive Leone biography, Sergio Leone: ...

prequel: Encyclopedia II - Mundus Devil May Cry - Mundus as a fantopic

Fans of Devil May Cry have often expressed their dissatisfaction with Mundus' appearance in Devil May Cry by spoofing his appearance and citing him as "The Giant Statue". They consider him to be unsatisfactory as a demon in general. There exists also dissatisfaction towards the name Beelzebub being assigned to a lowly, unintelligent fly-like demon. Subsequent citing to the other major bosses in the series also exists, as Argosax from Devil May Cry 2 is cited as "The Inverted Fetus", or "The Fetus", and Arkham's demonic form in Devi ...

prequel: Encyclopedia II - The Evil Dead - Censorship

Because of its graphic violence, the original version of the movie was banned in several countries, including Finland, Iceland, Ireland and Germany. The "tree rape" scene was also objectionable to some and seen as being misogynist. In Germany, the movie's release was hindered by public authorities for almost 10 years. Original 1982 cinema and video releases of the movie had been seized, making the movie a hit on the black market video circuit, with pirated copies abounding. A heavily edited version was first made available in 1992. Se ...

The battle system from the previous game (Conditional Turn-Based) was dropped in favor of a fast-paced variation on the traditional Active Time Battle system. Instead of waiting for enemies to attack, it is now possible to interrupt an enemy while they are preparing their attack, or chain your characters' attacks together for special bonuses. Of course, the same thing can be done to the player's party. Because the party never grows beyond three characters, the ability to switch out characters in battle was invalidated; instead, Garmen ...
