Perturbed

A selection of articles related to Perturbed:

Although modern analytic celestial mechanics starts 400 years ago with Isaac Newton, prior studies addressing the problem of planetary positions are known going back perhaps 3,000 years. Celestial mechanics - Ancient Civilizations. The Ancient Babylonians had no mechanistic theories regarding celestial motions, but recognized repeating patterns in the motion of the sun, moon, and planets

* Encyclopedia II - Celestial mechanics - Examples of problems

Celestial motion without additional forces such as thrust of a rocket, is governed by gravitational acceleration of masses due to other masses. A simplification is the n-body problem, where we assume n spherically symmetric masses, and integration of the accelerations reduces to summation. Examples: 4-body problem: spaceflight to Mars (for parts of the flight the influence of one or two bodies is very small, so that there we have a 2- or 3-body problem; see also the patched conic approximation) 3-body problem: quasi-satellite space ...

* Suffer Change

Hindu Quotes: Suffer Change

All things arise,
 Suffer change,
 And pass away.

 This is their nature.

 When you know this,
 Nothing perturbs you,
 Nothing hurts you.

 You become still.

 It is easy.

It fits descriptions of telepathy, extra-sensory perception, clairvoyance, precognition and other "perceptive" paranormal abilities. * Spiritual - TheosophyDictionary on Vikara

Vikara (Sanskrit) [from vi change + the verbal root kri to act, make]

A change of form or nature, an alteration or deviation from any natural state. A change from the naturally quiescent and peaceful condition of the inner being to a worse state, thus signifying deterioration; hence, mental or other perturbation, emotion, or passionate feeling. In the Sankhya philosophy, vikara is a result or evolution of an entity from its source or prakriti. Thus, we have as the originants or sources one or other of the various prakritis, and then the vikara derivative from the former. On a cosmic scale, then, the manifested universe is a vikara in all its quasi-infinity of details from the originant seven or ten cosmic prakritis.

In Sanskrit, śīla is a term in Indian-derived systems such as Hinduism and Buddhism which is usually rendered into English as "behavioral discipline," "morality," or "ethics" (Tibetan tshul khrims). More specifically, the concept deals with the prohibitions against immoral behavior that are practiced by monks and nuns in Buddhism. It is one of the "three practices" (see the Noble Eightfold Path), the second pāramitā: moral purity, of thought, word, and deed. The four conditions of śīla are chaste, calm, quiet, extinguishment, i.e. no longer being s ...

Harding, using a humble 2-inch telescope. It was named after the mythological figure Juno, the highest Roman goddess. The adjectival form of the name is Junonian. 3 Juno - Characteristics. * Encyclopedia II - Radiative forcing - IPCC usage

The term “radiative forcing” has been employed in the IPCC Assessments with a specific technical meaning to denote an externally imposed perturbation in the radiative energy budget of the Earth’s climate system, which may lead to changes in climate parameters [1]. The exact definition used is: The radiative forcing of the surface-troposphere system due to the perturbation in or the introduction of an agent (say, a change in greenhouse gas concentrations) is the change in net (down minus up) irradiance (solar plus long-wave ...

* Encyclopedia II - Climate commitment studies - Basic idea

If a perturbation - such as an increase in greenhouse gases or solar activity - is applied to the climate system the response will not be immediate, principally because of the large heat capacity of the oceans. As an analogue, consider the heating of a thin metal plate (by the sun or by a flame): the plate will warm relatively quickly. If a thick metal block is heated instead, it will take much longer for the entire block to reach equilibrium with the impose ...

* Encyclopedia II - Complex system - Features of natural complex systems

Complex system - Relationships are non-linear. In practical terms, this means a small perturbation may cause a large effect (see butterfly effect), a proportional effect, or even no effect at all. In linear systems, effect is always directly proportional to cause. See nonlinearity. Complex system - Relationships contain feedback loops. Both negative (damping) and positive (amplifying) feedback are often found in complex systems. The effects of an element's behaviour are fed back to in such a way that the element itself is altered.

(Note that the number 29.53.. is the synodic month.) To obtain this moment expressed in Universal Time (world clock time) for future events (N>0), apply the following approximate correction: days Periodic perturbations change the time of true conjunction from these mean values.
