In 2005, it was revealed that house prices in Omagh (along with South County Tyrone and Fermanagh) had risen by 38% (on average) since 2004. This brings the average house price in these areas to £161,496 (€237,339.91 or $280,040.50). This makes the house prices in these areas the second most expensive (on average) in Northern Ireland - the North Coast (Coleraine/Limavady) was the most expensive at £170,191 on average. Omagh has often been dubbed - 'The Wettest Town In Ireland' - but, no official figures have been released to prove this. In general summers are temperate and winters are cool to mild. In the Summer daytime temperatures usually range from 15°C to 22°C (59°F to 71.6°F) with warm days often extending to 25°C (77°F) or higher. During heat waves in 1995 and 2003 temperatures surpassed 40°C (104°F) which is rare for the local area's climate.
