Nightmare Dictionary: The Relation Between Reincarnation

We cannot discuss reincarnation sensibly without talking about the Laws of Karma. Karma is nothing other than the Universal law of cause and effect. It is a law that is embedded in this Universe and is not present in the same way that you in third dimension experience in the higher dimensions or the multi-dimensional realities.

Nightmare Dictionary: Encyclopedia II - Demon - In Jewish rabbinic literature

Rabbinical demonology has three classes of, demons, though they are scarcely separable one from another. There were the shedim, the mazziḳim ("harmers"), and the ruḥin ("evil spirits"). Besides these there were lilin ("night spirits"), ṭelane ("shade", or "evening spirits"), ṭiharire ("midday spirits"), and ẓafrire ("morning spirits"), as well as the "demons that bring famine" and "such as cause storm and earthquake" (Targ. Yer. to Deuteronomy xxxii. 24 and Numbers vi. 24; Tar ...

Nightmare Dictionary: Our Ishta Devata Lives Within Us

Whenever I come across news of violence, be it between individuals, mob factions or between countries, a nightmare usually envelops me, of a return to the days of the caveman. But scenes of the incineration of innocents at Godhra and the retaliatory mass live-burning of hundreds in other parts of Gujarat brought back poignant memories of the Partition massacres.

In extenuation, apologists among us could seek to ascribe the latter at least partially to the departing Brits but who do we blame for our own Millennium Abel and Cain act this past week? Only ourselves: In a land which boasts of its sanskriti, sabhyata, and itihaas - noble words uttered from political pulpits especially at election times, what surfaced in the past week is bestiality at its best (worst?).

Nightmare Dictionary: Some Esoteric Principles

Esoteric tenets of the established religions clearly state, among other things that "God is everywhere."

If we are to believe this statement, we then have to say, "Then God must also somehow be within that which is evil, including the Devil himself!"

Well, without going too far into the esoteric nature of the matter, I will simply say that what appears to be evil, is just that, an appearance.

Nightmare Dictionary: Politics is Lowest Form of Leela

In pre-Mandalised India of the seventies, Prof A L Basham, the author of The Wonder that was India, and I were colleagues at 'El Colegio de Mexico". He once observed that despite innumerable divisive factors of caste, creed and language, the fact that democracy was a functional reality in India, made India a living wonder. Today, I ask myself, are we truly a democratic country?

Nightmare Dictionary: An Indigo Dilemma - Learning Disabled or Not?

With so many of the Indigos being diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, and other learning disabilities, I thought some might find the following of interest. We experienced these difficulties before we discovered the Indigo information, but my daughter, Jessie, displays many of the Indigo traits. I should add as an aside that visual training proved beneficial, but we are also exploring "whole-brain" educational methods such as multiple intelligences. Also, if you look at natural learning models, such as the Sudbury School model, you'll see that the only learning disabled they encounter are those who have lost the ability to learn naturally through play. I've no doubt that the Indigos will teach us many new ways of learning. Meanwhile, I hope the following information will prove helpful to some.

Nightmare Dictionary: Encyclopedia II - Alice Cooper - 1970s

In 1970, the band teamed up with fledgling producer Bob Ezrin on their album entitled Love It to Death. This was the first of more than 10 Alice Cooper group and solo albums done with Ezrin who is credited with having helped to create their definitive sound. A hit single soon followed in 1971's 'I'm Eighteen'. The band's trailblazing mix of shock and glam theatrics stood out amongst bearded, denim-clad hippy bands by sporting sequined costumes by the prominent rock fashion designer Cindy Dunaway (Pink Floyd, The Who) and stage shows t ...

Nightmare Dictionary: Encyclopedia II - Stop motion - History

Stop motion animation is almost as old as film-making itself. The first instance of the technique can be credited to Albert E. Smith and J. Stuart Blackman for The Humpty Dumpty Circus (1898), in which a toy circus of acrobats and animals comes to life. The Haunted Hotel (1907) is another stop motion film by James Stuart Blackton, and was a resounding success when released. Segundo de Chomons (1871-1929), from Spain, released Hotel Electrico later that same year, and used similar techniques as the Blackton film. The earliest clay animation film was ...

Nightmare Dictionary: Encyclopedia II - Peanuts - Television film and theatre

In addition to the strip itself and numerous books, the Peanuts characters have appeared in animated form on television many times. This started when the Ford Motor Company licensed the characters in 1961 for a series of black and white commercials for the Ford Falcon. The ads were animated by Bill Melendez for Playhouse Pictures, a cartoon studio that had Ford as a client. Schulz and Melendez became friends, and when producer Lee Mendelson decided to make a two-minute animated sequence for a TV documentary called A Boy Named Charl ...

Nightmare Dictionary: Encyclopedia - Tad

TAD was one of the heaviest bands to come out of Seattle back in grunge's heyday. Their music was inspired mostly by 70s metal, rather than punk. TAD's music was loud, uncompromising and bleak. The band themselves had a heavy look, dressing like northwestern lumberjacks. Led by the 300 lb (136 kg) ex-butcher Tad Doyle (Thomas A. Doyle - Boise, Idaho) on vocals/guitar TAD was formed in late 1988 by Doyle and bassist Kurt Danielson, who met at a Christian potluck dinner. They played together in a band called Bundle of Hiss until 1988. Doyle hi ...
