Neptune: Encyclopedia - Neptune

Click image for description Neptune is the eighth or, occasionally, the ninth planet from the Sun due to Pluto's eccentric orbit (if Pluto counts as a planet), and the outermost gas giant in our solar system. Although the smallest of the gas giants, Neptune is more massive than Uranus: Its stronger gravitational field has compressed it to a higher density. Faint dark rings have been detected around the blue planet, but are less substantial than those of Saturn. When these ...

Neptune: Spiritual Dictionary on Neptune

Neptune: Neptune is in its rulership in Pisces. All that is glamorous, mystical, metaphysical and inspirational participates in the energy reflected by Neptune in your chart. Like Uranus, Neptune and Pluto remain in one sign for many years, so your friends all share a similar grasp of Neptune’s energy. The house placement and the aspects to Neptune color your sensitivity in a more personal way.

What you consume is what you are on the physical plane. The placement of Neptune indicates how you assimilate food, drink, medications and other drugs. It shows your tolerance for foods and other substances, and indicates where your physical system can get out of balance most easily. Therefore Neptune indicates an area where care can prevent or lessen harm.

Confusion and deception are part of the Neptune picture. Vagueness and glamour can be part of fraudulent activity, or they can be the essence of entertainment. Magic shows are all about deceiving our senses in order to surprise and entertain us. Neptune’s placement shows your level of susceptibility to deceit and your level of ability as well.

Imagination is part of Neptune’s realm. Your creative style depends on the ability to use your feelings and intellect to make something new and different. Problem-solving means imagining solutions and then trying them on for size mentally before rushing into action. Dreams are a function of this energy, and Neptune’s placement can show a lot about the nature of your dreams and their role in your life.

Spirituality is a significant part of human life. Neptune speaks to this area by showing you what area of your life needs a spiritual boost. It also show you what career or other activity will satisfy your inner spiritual yearning. Neptune’s movement through your chart will indicate times when spiritual measures are called for.

Psychic impressionability is in Neptune’s realm. Your ability to tune in to others can be defined by examining Neptune in your chart. Your best path to psychic development may be described by Neptune’s placement and aspects.

Neptune: 2005 - The Year Of Spiritual Awakening

The year 2005 comes under the banner of 'Spirituality' and is ruled by the strongest God Force represented by number 7.

In Western Astrology, this number is associated with the watery planet Neptune and in Hindu Astrology it swings to the moods of the half-planet Ketu.

It is said that during our time, which is in 'kaliyug' (the era of darkness), Rahu, Ketu and Saturn have become more powerful and active than other planets and exert maximum influence on mankind and the earth as a whole.

Neptune: Venus Transits, June 8 2004 and Uranus 1945

There is so much to say about Venus Transits, June 8 2004 and its impact upon mankind. This phenomenon has its direct connection since 1945 with the Planet Neptune (poseidon and Uranus (God of the sky) supporting and promoting the future itself and with it, the progress of man's mental exploration and cosmic consciousness. Life is a constant process of changes and because of Uranus "electrifying" impact those changes are taking place "at the speed of light". Many people will have to realize their own limitation as religious doctrines are replaced with a more advanced education "imposed" by the planet of changes and universality, (Uranus is also called the awakener in Greek Mythology).

Neptune: Encyclopedia II - Voyager 2 - Neptune

The closest approach to Neptune occurred on August 25, 1989. Since this was the last major planet Voyager 2 could visit, it was decided to make a close flyby of the moon Triton, regardless of the consequences to the trajectory, as with Voyager 1's encounter with Saturn and its moon Titan. This was a wise decision, as Triton turned out to have a fascinating surface. The probe also discovered the Great Dark Spot, which has since disappeared, according to Hubble Space Telescope observati ...

Neptune: Encyclopedia II - Extraterrestrial skies - Neptune

Judging by the colour of its atmosphere, the sky of Neptune is likely blue. It is probable that the planet's rings can't be seen from its surface, as they are very thin and dark. Aside from the Sun, the most impressive object in Neptune's sky is its large moon Triton, which would appear slightly smaller than a full Moon on Earth. It moves a lot more swiftly than our Moon, because of its shorter period (5.8 days) compounded by its retrograde orbit. The smaller moon Proteus would show a disk about half the size of the full Moon. Neptune ...

Neptune: Encyclopedia II - Solar system in astrology - Neptune

Main article:Neptune (astrology) Modern western astrologers associate the planet Neptune with illusion, deception, religions, spirituality, the mass media, music, drugs, extreme sensitivity, psychic phenomena and altered mental states. The discovery of Neptune in 1846 coincided with the discovery of anesthetics and hypnotism around this period. For some astrologers, Neptune is the ruling planet of Pisces. Prior to the discovery of Neptune, Jupiter was considered the ruler of Pisces, and some modern astrologers consider J ...

Neptune: Encyclopedia II - Neptune - Discovery

Galileo's astronomical drawings show that he had first observed Neptune on December 27, 1612, and again on January 27, 1613; on both occasions Galileo mistook Neptune for a fixed star when it appeared very close (in conjunction) to Jupiter in the night sky. Believing it to be a fixed star, he cannot be credited with its discovery. At the time Galileo first observed Neptune on December 28, 1612, it was stationary in the sky because it had just turned retrograde that very day; because it was stationary in the sky and only beginning the ...

Neptune: Encyclopedia - Voyager 2

The Voyager 2 spacecraft was launched in 1977. It is identical to its sister Voyager program craft, Voyager 1, but Voyager 2 followed a somewhat different trajectory during its Saturn encounter, bypassing a close encounter with Titan to take advantage of a gravitational slingshot to travel on to Uranus and Neptune. It thus became the first and so far only probe to visit those two planets and the first spacecraft to make the Grand Tour of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. This was possible only due to a rare geometric arrangement of those four pl ...

Neptune: Encyclopedia - Colonization of the outer solar system

Some of the moons of the outer planets of the solar system are large enough to be suitable places for colonization. Many of the larger moons contain water ice, liquid water, and organic compounds that might be useful for rocket fuel production among other things. Colonies in the outer solar system could also serve as centres for long term investigation of the planet and the other moons. In particular, robotic devices could be controlled by humans without the very long time delays needed to communicate with Earth. There have also been proposa ...

NEPTUNE

In extremity comes Neptune, the northernmost of all our arts, to help us overcome the forces of darkness that would enslave us. Neptune confers insight into the heart of the mystic powers. This knowledge, however, can be squeezed out only with great pain, only by the heaviest of pressure of affliction and torment.

The planet was discovered in 1864, in the sign of Aries. It has been assigned the rulership of Pisces. Neptune entered Capricorn in 1984, there to remain until 1998, the year of its entry into Aquarius. It will enter Pisces in 2013.
