Neale Donald Walsch: Indigo- The Color of Money

Many are excited about the upcoming New Age movie, "Indigo," written, produced, and directed by three renowned individuals who now live in Ashland - James Twyman, Neale Donald Walsch, and Stephen Simon. Appealing are the career opportunities, the camaraderie of movie-making, the promoting of spirituality and messages of peace and love. Promoters say it will stimulate the local economy and help our schools. But after examining the Indigo Child movement, and specifically the activities of co-writer/producer James Twyman, I see potential consequences for the community -- and for children.

A critical view on the Indigo Phenomenon by Lorie Andersson.

Neale Donald Walsch: About the movie "Indigo"

During the last week of January, the movie "Indigo" was the 17th highest grossing film in America. A "home-grown," low-budget flick, it is part of a new movement throughout our country for Spiritual Cinema, movies that extoll and uplift the human spirit in positive, transformative ways. There have been others, like "The Notebook," but this is the first from the collaborative effort of James Twyman, Neale Donald Walsch, and Stephen Simon -- all luminaries in the publishing field and entertainment industry.

Neale Donald Walsch: CNN report about Indigo Children

"Beloved Friends,

On 15th of November an eight minute report about Indigo Children was broadcast worldwide on CNN, showing that the subject has at last reached mass consciousness. Articles in USA Today as well as other major newspapers and magazines indicates that our goal of bringing the message of the Children to the world is being achieved. If you would like to view the report online, please go to:

www.cnn.com/video/player/player.html?url=/video/us/2005/11/15/tuchman.indigo.children.affl

This means that when THE INDIGO EVOLUTION documentary is released this January, the world will be ready to finally respond to the messages as well as the needs of the New Children. The success of the World Premier test-screening of the film in Phoenix earlier this week has set the stage for major impact. Thanks to everyone who has supported this movement and the Children themselves. It looks as if all our effort is about to pay off, for the Children and for humanity itself.

James Twyman"

Neale Donald Walsch: Encyclopedia - Conversations with God

Conversations with God is a three-part dialogue written by Neale Donald Walsch that he claims to have channelled during the 1990s. (It has since been expanded by the author, though the original trilogy remains central.) The books outline the principles of God, ethics, metaphysics and the nature of reality in the format of a continuing dialogue between God and the author. In the dialogue many philosophical ideas are presented that had already been advanced earlier by major western thinkers ...

Neale Donald Walsch: A view on the movie Indigo by Twyman/Walsh/Simon about Indigo Children

Indigo Children

Children born since around 1982 really are different, like no other generation of record. If the movie "Indigo" makes this point and no other, it has done the world a favor and hopefully will help to engender an overall transformation in how we regard and teach children. Surely it will inspire a forum whereby the children themselves can speak and be heard... for our youngest citizens truly have something important to say that is worth hearing.

Neale Donald Walsch: Indigo kids - Does the science fly?

James Twyman is convinced that there's a new generation of special children among us who are psychically sensitive and spiritually evolved.

Those who follow metaphysics and ancient spiritual teachings have for years quietly nurtured the belief in these kids, known as Indigo children for the deep blue color of the "auras" psychics say they see around them.

Skeptics point out that there's no scientific research backing up the existence of these children, and Twyman, 43, knows that's true.

"Certainly in the scientific realm, this is just a bunch of New Age nonsense," says Twyman, "But I think anyone with an inquisitive and rational mind can look at many children out there today and say there's something about them."

Neale Donald Walsch: Encyclopedia - Automatic writing

Automatic writing is the process, or product, of writing material that does not come from the conscious thoughts of the writer. The writer's hand forms the message, and the person is unaware of what will be written. It is sometimes done in a trance state. Other times the writer is aware (not in a trance) of their surroundings but not of the actions of their writing hand. Automatic writing - How is it done?. The writer takes a pencil in hand, places it against a piece of paper as if about to write something, ...

Neale Donald Walsch: Encyclopedia - Spiritual possession

Spiritual possession is a concept of many religions and tales, where it is believed that a demon, or disincarnate being, may take temporary control of a human body, resulting in noticeable changes in behaviour. The term demonic possession is used when the spirit is malignant (a demon), whereas incorporation or channelling may be used in the case of supposed benign spirits. Channelling is the claimed receipt of information or commands by a person functioning as a medium or channel for a spirit or other source. This often ...

Neale Donald Walsch: Encyclopedia - New Age

The term New Age describes a broad movement of late twentieth century and contemporary Western culture, characterised by an individual eclectic approach to spiritual exploration. Collectively, New Age has some attributes of an emergent religion, but is currently a loose network of spiritual teachers, healers, and seekers. The movement is most visible where its ideas are traded—for example in specialist bookshops, music stores, and New Age fairs. The name "New Age" also refers to the market segment in which its goods and servi ...

Neale Donald Walsch: Encyclopedia II - Automatic writing - How is it done?

The writer takes a pencil in hand, places it against a piece of paper as if about to write something, then turns their attention to something else, such as watching television, reading a book, or talking with someone. For many people, their hand will write coherent material. Often, the writing is illegible. But for some people, words, sentences or whole paragraphs appear. The message is often signed with a name other than that of the person who is writing, or shows a different handwriting appearance. The person often feels that another personality is writing the message. Many contemporary au ...

Neale Donald Walsch: Encyclopedia II - Spiritual possession - Books

Several notable books describe entering a trance state to allow a dead or other-dimensional being to speak through them. It's claimed that a guide conveys messages from other spirit men to listeners (see seance), in which case two intermediaries are needed, one on each side of the heavenly divide for a conversation between a living person and a dead one. In Unknown But Known: My Adventure Into The Meditative Dimension (1969) by Arthur Ford, he describes seances he conducted for several different groups of people. ...

Neale Donald Walsch: Encyclopedia II - Automatic writing - Use in therapy

Automatic writing is used as a tool in Freudian psychology and in related "self-knowledge" studies, where it is seen as a means of gaining insight into the mind of the automatic writer through their subconscious word choices. It was primarily used by Pierre Janet in France, and later by Morton Prince and by Anita Mühl in the United States. ...

Neale Donald Walsch: Encyclopedia II - Automatic writing - Case stories

Sometime before 1900, William Stainton Moses, a respected priest and teacher, experimented with automatic writing. His beliefs were Orthodox Christian, but the messages from his automatic writing took a more open, undogmatic view, to which he "converted" over time. He believed the message originated from higher spirits. John B. Newbrough was a New York dentist who wrote the book Oahspe through the process of automatic writing on the newly invented typewriter in 1882. Rosemary Brown was an English housewife who automatically composed music. She could play the piano, though not very well. She f ...

Neale Donald Walsch: Encyclopedia II - Automatic writing - Use in stimulating creativity

André Breton pioneered the use of automatic writing within the Surrealist movement and produced several important pieces while using the technique, most famously Soluble Fish. The ideas of Hélène Smith, the so-called "Muse of Automatic Writing", also influenced the Surrealist movement (in the Surrealist deck of cards, Smith is the "Genius of Knowledge"). Automatic writing became a part of the Surrealist's repertoire of games, and it soon developed into a number of other Surrealist games and tools that greatly influenced the movement, such as automatic drawing, automatic palimpses ...

Neale Donald Walsch: Encyclopedia II - Automatic writing - Criticism

Skeptics point out that automatic writing claimed to be of supernatural origins is a parlor game that has little more effect than to spark creativity in the minds of the participants. They claim, as with other paranormal phenomena, that the subconscious of those performing the writing is the only thing influencing their actions and that there is no solid evidence that any messages are coming from anywhere other than the minds of the person holding the penci ...
