Japanese Thought - ShintoismShinto: The Way of Kami in
Japanese Thought
Japanese culture has been influenced
by two spiritual traditions, Shinto or Shintoism and Buddhism. Shinto is
Japan's ancient indigenous religion which evolved over hundreds of years.
When Buddhism took roots in the sixth
century Shinto existed more as a way of life, realised by the people in their
natural surroundings, rather than as an organised religion. Shinto shaped both
the spiritual as well as material aspects of Japanese lifestyle. Japanese
culture, psyche and ethos are so closely intertwined with Shinto that it can be
called the national religion.

| | | | Nature: Hindu Philosophy - Vedanta PhilosophyUttara Mimamsa
or the Vedanta philosophy of Vyasa or Badarayana is placed as the last of the
six orthodox systems, but, really, it ought to stand first.
The Uttara
Mimamsa conforms closely to the doctrines propounded in the Upanishads. The
term Vedanta means
literally the end or essence of the Veda. It contains the doctrines set forth in the closing
chapters of the Vedas. The closing chapters of the Vedas are the Upanishads.
The Upanishads really form the essence of the Vedas.

| | | | Nature: Man not Measure Of All Things
Man is no longer to be the measure of all things, the centre of the universe. He has been measured and found to be an undistinguished bit of matter, different in no essential way from bacteria, stones and trees. His goals and purposes, his egocentric notions of past, present and future; his faith in his power to predict and through prediction to control his destiny - all these are called into question, considered irrelevant, or deemed trivial.

| | | | Nature: Surya, The Healer And Energiser
Suryayog is a dynamic spiritual yoga which brings us in tune with nature and the inner self. We are drawn towards eternal light, from saguna swaroop to nirguna swaroop - from the human to the Supreme. Suryayog is a meaningful way of life taught by Himalayan Masters and practised by yogis who survive without food and sustenance for days. They draw power from Surya or the Sun, whose vibrant energy transforms and changes the bio-electric powers in all beings, fusing body, prana, mind and soul into a divine experience of cosmic consciousness.

Astrology and Mental, Emotional and Spiritual Health
In order to maintain a healthy mind we must realize
the true realities of life. Therefore we must consider our spiritual nature to
understand the subtleties of mind, intelligence and ego. Accordingly mental,
emotional and spiritual health go together and, unless you have some knowledge
in this regard, you cannot stop the onslaught of negative emotions brought on
by ignorance and fear. We not only need to engage ourselves in some sort of
fulfilling work to occupy our minds but need to understand why we fall victim
to feelings of hate, envy, greed and avarice. These emotions only serve to
destroy us intellectually, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually. Why is
there so much hate in the world, anyway?

Incarnation
Incarnation In Christian theology, when God became a man, taking on the physical nature of Jesus, creating the second person of the Trinity, an addition of human nature to the nature of God. The doctrine is of vital importance to the Christian. This doctrine says only God could pay for sins, therefore, God became man to die for our sins which is the atonement. (Contrast with Kenosis. )

Lower Nature, Lower Self
Lower Nature, Lower Self The dual human nature arises from the fact that manas (mind), the field and substance of human thought and reasoning, is the scene of interaction between the spiritual soul (buddhi-manas) and the animal soul (kama-manas). Thus there is a threefold division, so that lower self may be considered as either the kama-manas as opposed to buddhi-manas, or else the dual human consciousness or false ego, consisting of both selfish and unselfish elements. The term lower nature, however, refers to the animal and selfish side of human nature, that part which tends downwards and which has to be regenerated and raised.

| | | | | Nature: Of Freedom, Fate And Free Will
We seem to be free, to do that which we choose and not that which is chosen for us; but possibly, the freedom may be illusory; in fact, it may be bondage. We may be bound by predestination, the will of a Supreme Intelligent Power, or blind inexorable Nature, or the necessity of our own previous development.

| | | | Nature: Free Your Self From Moha And Krodha
Buddhists do not deny that a conventional reality exists 'out there'. It appears substantial, solid, permanent and self-existent. In fact were it not so, then all scientific research would be futile, for, the main concern of science is to investigate the ultimate nature of reality of the physical universe. The madhyamika prasangika view of Mahayana Buddhism postulates that though beings exist in the conventional world, their existence is only through nomination, designation and mental imputation. When an investigation is made into the ultimate nature of phenomena and persons, a permanent self-existing entity cannot be found.

Lotus
Lotus (from Greek lotos) A lily belonging to the genus Nymphaea, an ancient and universal symbol; in India spoken of innumerable times under its Sanskrit name padma. "It is the flower sacred to nature and her Gods, and represents the abstract and the Concrete Universes, standing as the emblem of the productive powers of both spiritual and physical nature. It was held sacred from the remotest antiquity by the Aryan Hindus, the Egyptians, and the Buddhists after them; revered in China and Japan, and adopted as a Christian emblem by the Greek and Latin Churches, who made of it a messenger as the Christians do now, who replace it with the water lily. It had, and still has, its mystic meaning which is identical with every nation on the earth" (SD 1:379). In relation to men, the lotus is the symbol of the self-producing soul which, during manifestation immersed in material life as the lotus seed is embedded in the mud of lake or pond, is wakened by the warm rays of the spiritual sun, and grows upward through the world of illusion (symbolized by water) to blossom in the free air and sunlight of truth. Cosmically the lotus symbolizes the emanation of the objective from the subjective, the manifested effect or production of the eternal plan on which the invisible worlds are built by the formative logoi. This lies buried, until the time for its svabhava or production comes, in the bosom of eternal ideation -- as the lotus plant of visible nature exists in miniature in the seed.

Buddhist - Buddhism Dictionary on Buddha Nature
Buddha Nature The following terms refer to the same thing: Self-Nature, True Nature, Original Nature, Dharma Nature, True Mark, True Mind, True Emptiness, True Thusness, Dharma Body, Original Face, Emptiness, Prajna, Nirvana, etc. According to the Mahayana view, (buddha-nature) is the true, immutable, and eternal nature of all beings. Since all beings possess buddha-nature, it is possible for them to attain enlightenment and become a buddha, regardless of what level of existence they occupy ... The answer to the question whether buddha-nature is immanent in beings is an essential determining factor for the association of a given school with Theravada or Mahayana, the two great currents within Buddhism. In Theravada this notion is unknown; here the potential to become a buddha is not ascribed to every being. By contrast the Mahayana sees the attainment of buddhahood as the highest goal; it can be attained through the inherent buddha-nature of every being through appropriate spiritual practice. Alternative
Health Dictionary on Nature Cure
Nature Cure (Nature Care): Progenitor of naturopathy. Nature Cure is a variation of self-healing whose most important measures are fasting and rest. Originally, Nature Cure was a hydropathy-centered natural lifestyle. Its principle is: (a) that all disease, barring accidents and the consequences of hostile surroundings, is due to violations of nature's laws, and (b) that, therefore, true healing consists in a return to natural habits.

| | | | Nature: A Salubrious Stage For Krishna - Vraja Vrindavan
The sage, Narad, visiting Krishna in Dwaraka, was surprised to find that his Lord’s favourite pastime was to hear the story of Vraja-Vrindavan , its people and His own activities there. It is a story set in a particular time and space - however, its nature cannot be bound by time and space. The beauty of Vrindavan lies in it being both the seed and the fullest manifestation of the tree contained in that seed. The theme of all the stories of this lila is only one, and that is prem , love.

FLOWER ESSENCES: Elixir of Alchemy Everyone knows how important flowers are -- for their beauty, their fragrance, their oils in Aromatherapy and perfumes, even sometimes in food. But the most important property of flowers is seldom mentioned: their vibrational essence, and their literal connection to the human electrical system. This is the true meaning of alchemy: to transmute dross into gold -- to transform suffering into joy, pain into learning, dis-ease to health, and darkness into peace and light. Are flower essences capable of doing this? Yes, and more.

It is important to understand that feng shui
is not a religion. Feng shui is the recognition or understanding of the laws of
nature, that there are certain patterns of energy. For every force, there is an
equal and opposite force. For every cause, there is an effect. This natural
phenomenon exists whether you believe in it or not.

| | | | Nature: Paris to Pondicherry: Journey of Discovery
''All life is yoga,'' said Sri Aurobindo, referring to the work done not for the satisfaction of one's desires or ego but as an offering to the Divine, which is actually a powerful means of yoga. This is how the Mother explains the profundity of Sri Aurobindo's vision: ''There is an ascending evolution in nature which goes from the stone to the plant, from the plant to the animal, from the animal to man. Because man is, for the moment, the last rung at the summit of the ascending evolution, he considers himself as the final stage in this ascension and believes there can be nothing on earth superior to him. In that he is mistaken…."
