Mysticism Glossary - R: Mysticism Magick Dictionary on REALITY

REALITY

"Reality" is illusion only in the sense that there is more than one version. You can alter this aeon's reality, but there are several million separate Kalpic realities that are also primed for re-adjustment.

Reality does not exist apart from you and me. Although it seems to retain a changeless nature, that is merely the illusory consensus which our society clings to. And of course, our perceptions define reality, as do history and tradition, but we can also alter reality by physical, mental & arcane means. There are the perceptionless reality systems, after all (see below). The psychedelics have also played a tremendous role in changing collective reality, that despite the built-in limitation that all psychedelics can do is restructure ephemeral, subjective consciousness on society's lowest, least influential levels.

Ordinary, right-eyed, aeonic reality depends on our senses, but there are realities interwoven through this consensus that do not derive from the bodily senses, in which (as far as our waking minds are concerned) we act unconsciously -- but deliberately. Sense reality, for all its unreliability, is not very flexible, hence it serves as the final testing field (as well as rubbish heap) of substance. Usually our work in the separate realities is more important than our work in "this" one. As for using one's mental expectations as a reality-set, that would apply strictly to the superzeroeth R-Levels.

Reality is "Non-being," and according to Grant: "...withdraws as the Principle of Consciousness recedes and returns to the point of original absence."

Gurdjieff describes the following while under the influence of an anomalous substance: "I perceived directly now that everything in the universe was directly connected, and that moreover these forms were all connected just because they were all one and the same, repeated to provide the illusion of complexity. When presented with such a multiplicity of images, one can infuse them with differences sufficient to completely deceive oneself even though behind it all, one knows and understands the truth." And then, as the ground began to give way under him, he thought, "Everything, as soon as it is formed, flows into infinity in which it is transformed into the void and reformed as a new formation, which in turn is instantly swallowed."

Mysticism Glossary - R: Spiritual Theosophical Dictionary on R - Letter R

R - Letter R . - The eighteenth letter of the alphabet; "the canine", as its sound reminds one of a snarl. In the Hebrew alphabet it is the twentieth, and its numeral is 200. It is equivalent as Resh to the divine name Rahim (clemency); and its symbols are, a sphere, a head, or a circle.

Mysticism Glossary - R: Spiritual - Theosophy Dictionary on Reincarnation

Reincarnation Reimbodiment; specifically reinfleshment, the repeated imbodiment of the reincarnating ego in vehicles of human flesh on this earth. The unexhausted desire for earth-life draws the ego back to this globe, where it gathers to itself the material for a reincarnation and thus is finally born from a human womb. The process is repeated almost numberless times until the evolution of the inspiriting monad has reached a stage when reincarnation is no longer required. The interval between successive incarnations may be roughly estimated at 100 times the length of the preceding earth-life -- a rule obviously subject to many exceptions.

Mysticism Glossary - R: Mysticism Magick Dictionary on MARS

MARS

Planet of energy and courage. The ability to initiate and complete a task. The indicator of how we oppose and challenge the world. The word probably does not derive from Mavors, "War, destruction", but from Martulus, Marcus, etc. i.e. the "Hammer of the Thunder God" and related to Mer - shine" (Sun and Lightning), referring to the spring storms and planting. We can see the latter etymology paralleled in the Teutonic connection of Thor to his hammer, which was called Mjolnir . (Linguistically, "r" and "l" are the same letter).

Mysticism Glossary - R: Alternative Health Dictionary on Resonance medicine

resonance medicine (electric medicine, electro-medicine): a group of methods exemplified by modalities that Robert Beck, Hulda Regehr Clark, Ph.D., N.D., and Royal Raymond Rife (see Rife therapy) developed. For example, Clark - author of The Cure for All Cancers: With 100 Case Histories (New Century Press, 1993), The Cure for HIV and AIDS (New Century Press, 1993) and The Cure for All Diseases (San Diego: Promotion Publishing, 1995) - discovered that an electronic device (the Zapper) could extinguish all disease-causing viruses, bacteria, and parasites in the human body in seven minutes without affecting humans.

CTHULHU

(H.P. Lovecraft's cosmology). Great Evil One, dead or asleep and dreaming beneath the sea in the sunken city of R'lyeh (Atlantis?), revived by Kenneth Grant. As the powers of evil and darkness threaten to break through into this world, this great "behemoth of the deep", awakens to lead them. His totem is the Egyptian hippo goddess, Ta-Urt. His number is 52, the same as Semitic K-L-V or "dog", referring, no doubt to Anubis. (Ta-Urt, however, be aware, is a secret aspect of Isis).

Mysticism Glossary - R: Spiritual Theosophical Dictionary on Abraxas, Abrasax

Abraxas or Abrasax (Gn.). Mystic words which have been traced as far back as Basilides, the Pythagorean, of Alexandria, AD. 90. He uses Abraxas as a title for Divinity, the supreme of Seven, and as having 365 virtues. In Greek numeration, a. 1, b. 2, r. 100, a. I, x 60, a. I, s. 200 = 365 days of the year, solar year, a cycle of divine action. C. W. King, author of The Gnostics, considers the word similar to the Hebrew Shemhamphorasch, a holy word, the extended name of God. An Abraxas Gem usually shows a man’s body with the head of a cock, one arm with a shield, the other with a whip.

Abraxas is the counterpart of the Hindu Abhimanim (q.v.) and Brahma combined. It is these compound and mystic qualities which caused Oliver, the great Masonic authority, to connect the name of Abraxas with that of Abraham. This was unwarrantable ; the virtues and attributes of Abraxas, which are 365 in number, ought to have shown him that the deity was connected with the Sun and solar division of the year -  - nay, that Abraxas is the antitype, and the Sun, the type.
