 | | | Music and Spirituality: Trimurti of Maths, Music, Meditation Music comes closest to meditation. Music is a way towards meditation and the most beautiful way. Meditation is the art of hearing the soundless sound, the art of hearing the music of silence - what the Zen people call the sound of one hand clapping. When you are utterly silent, not a single thought passes your mind, there is not even a ripple of any feeling in your heart. Then you start, for the first time, hearing silence. | | | Music and Spirituality: Surfing The Ocean Of Soul Music No nada-yogi has, to this day, been able to say that he has 'completed' his sadhana in music. Sadhana can complete us, but is in itself beyond completion. Through sadhana, siddhi and samadhi, we merge into the ocean of music, but we never 'cross' it. | | | Music and Spirituality: The Divine Music Within UsDivine music, when you experience it, brings with it intense and lasting bliss. How can one who has heard this divine melody describe it to one who has not? Anyone who attempts to describe it would have to use pale analogies. If we think of the most beautiful music we have ever heard in this world, it still does not compare with the music known as the Voice of God. The divine music is playing within us all the time. We dont hear it because no one has shown us the way to listen to this inner music. Read more here: » Inner music: The Divine Music Within Us |

 | | | Music and Spirituality: Journalists Need A Loving Detachment There's this story about a writer who drifted into journalism. Sent to a distant island to cover a civil war, he happily lazed around in a beach house, watched spectacular sunrises and breathtaking sunsets, and occasionally heard the distant 'musical' rumble of guns. He faithfully recorded all this, and was promptly sacked for missing the 'big story'. But while he was an utter failure as a journalist, wasn't he an astute observer of the relative truth of the waking state? | | | Music and Spirituality: Reflections on
SpiritualityWhen I was growing up, I thought that "spirituality" was the same thing as "religion," which was something for which I had little respect. My early experiences with organized religion left me convinced that the church was a body of contradictions, from which you would never get a rational, straight answer. I was quite mystified that so many people would go to church every Sunday to engage in something that seemed so irrelevant. Read more here: » What is Spirituality: Reflections on

 | | | Music and Spirituality: Music For The SoulSound leads to understanding unity and divinity. Hence the importance given to the recitation of the sacred syllable - Om. Whatever the music, if it is spiritually moving, it elevates the spirit and affects positively both mind and body. While good music is highly beneficial, todays cacophony of loud noises in the environment aggravates stress and will eventually destroy us. Remember, sound is a powerful force Ñ it can heal; it can also destroy. Read more here: » Healing Music: Music For The Soul |

 | | | Music and Spirituality: Spiritual Values Are Human Values In February of 2000, we began writing an in-depth programme for working people which explores five human values that are found across all spiritual traditions: Truth, righteousness, love, peace and non-violence. The title is Human Values in the Workplace: Making Spirituality the Inner Context for Your Work. [1] We were inspired to write this programme because our collective business experience showed us that these five human values were the fundamental roots of a healthy, vibrant, viable organisation - and of healthy, vibrant, viable individuals.
