Mirror It is a symbol of vanity and superficiality. You may be concerned about your image and the way you present yourself to the world. Some say that if you see a clear image, you may be getting a glimpse of your true self. Broken mirrors always seem to be a sign of bad luck, or, at least, represent some distortions. On a deeper level the mirror can be considered to be a representation of the intellect. The intellect is an instrument of navigation and is constantly persuading us to identify ourselves. When we think about this, it makes a lot of sense. Our self-identity is very much connected to the way we look (not only superficially but also characteristically as man - woman, young - old, etc). We use this self-identity, which is greatly a production of our intellect, to navigate through life.

- Mirror
Mirror In dreams, mirrors can reflect directly, reflect with additions or deletions, or serve as a doorway into another reality as in Alice in Wonderland. The mirror is troubling because it reveals plainly what is before us, forcing us to interpret and evaluate whether or not we like what we see. If the mirror is inconsistent ? by adding or deleting certain elements ? it is a projection of perceptive versus actual reality. In this case the dream may be a herald that you are misinterpreting the motives of others by not accepting them at face value. (Who or what is being added or deleted from the mirror?) Finally, the mirror as a doorway to another world is usually a fantasy created by the subconscious. As Alice discovered when she went through the looking glass, the mirror is a metaphor of possible worlds. Does your dream mirror function as a gate or access out of one boundary and into another possible world? What is more desirable or more threatening about that world?

The mirror is a symbol of vanity and self-knowledge. Seeing yourself in the mirror is a sign that somebody is making you aware of your mistake. Seeing a mirror means that you need to become more self-aware. Looking into a mirror signifies that the opinion you have about yourself is different from what people think of you. Seeing a large mirror foretells fame or success. Dreaming of a broken mirror predicts quarrels with other people.

 | | | Mirror: Healing the Shadow and
the Mirror of RelationshipWhatever else you say about emotions and
feelings, you have to admit that you just "wouldn't be your self"
(little 's') without your own, familiar feelings. That's why we think we're
going crazy or becoming "possessed" when unfamiliar or "out of
character" emotions or reactions show up in our lives. However, there is
another, more positive way to look at these disturbing occurrences. Remember
that anything that feels like it isn't "you" must be a part of your
shadow, and when parts of your shadow start to show up in your
"self's" experience, this is HEALING.

Relating To Others: Mirror, Mirror on the WallThe
insights we attain come through the heart. Perhaps the intellect can be a
vehicle for enlightenment, but for me and millions of others, the pathway
through the heart is the most healing and beautiful way to learn and grow.
Relationships with friends and family are filled with learning opportunities.
They come in many forms, and could be intellectually discussed for many hours,
though there is only one true lesson to learn. We learn to give service
unselfishly to our partners or friends and others who may knock on our doors.

MIRROR
MIRROR As one of the tools for "knowing" the self, mirrors are highly important. Although for a person possessed of youth and beauty the deliberate breaking of a mirror can serve as a symbolic sacrifice to Venus, to break a mirror accidentally is a sign that one has ceased to look "within" for one of the long, seven-year "Ages of Man". Hathor's mirror is defensive (like Perseus's shield) and used to reflect evil back upon itself. It is believed by the uninitiated that witches and warlocks fear mirrors, will not have them in their houses and, in any case, witches have no reflection! Like most superstitions, there is something behind it, though the truth is far from ordinary people imagine. One of the sine qua nons of M/magic(k) is that the initiate keep to his own boundaries of selfdom until his unorthodox procedures and formulae have been completely worked out. External "consensus" reality is a distraction from "the wisdom of the self" during this creative period. Strictly as devices for knowing the self, mirrors are no longer of much use to the advanced magician (except for very rare rituals), who dwells more and more in his center.

 | | | Mirror: Avoiding Bad Luck
Certain features in your external environment can adversely affect the feng shui of your building. These 'poison arrows' can be responsible for ill-fortune in the form of robbery, legal entanglement or serious illness. It is, therefore, necessary to identify the not-so-obvious 'poison arrows' in your environment and to deal with them.
