Derived from the Latin word meta which means beyond, metaphysics would literally mean that which is beyond the laws of physics. The study of psychical research.

Forms of Christian prayer include:

(a)   private prayer, which is solitary and/or meditative;

(b)  liturgical prayer, wherein a priest or leader prays ceremonially for countless persons and spirits;

(c)   vocal prayer, characterized by holy utterances;

(d)  mental prayer, the turning of one's mind and heart to God;
