Mens Spirituality: Encyclopedia II - Gift of Men - A Spiritual / Theological View of the Gift of Men

The Gift of Men was an act of the supreme being Iluvatar that set the race of Men apart from the Elves. While the race of Elves would know the most bliss and contentment and would conceive more beauty than any others of the Children of Iluvatar, it was decreed by this gift that Men would be the prime instruments of Iluvatar within Arda. Iluvatar willed that the spirits/hearts of Men are not content within Arda, and find no rest therein, and therefore seek beyond the world and its confines. They are not bound to the Circles of t ...

Mens Spirituality: Finding God

I knew I was being transformed that morning to hear a new song, to listen to a new melody that could not be heard with ears, but with the heart. Something about the air around me was different than the air of the day before, as if the room itself had been transported to a place in the heavens in a new world free from the limits of our mortal minds. I was in a place where the soul was free to travel at will, where thought was not bound with words or unknown feelings held captive by the rigidity of a spoken language.

Hinduism: Why do Hindu women wear the dot on the forehead?

Not only women, but Hindu men also wear a dot on the forehead, indicating their third eye. The pottu is a very auspicious symbol, reminding those who ear it of their spiritual heritage and ideals, wherever they may be. It also serves to identify a Hindu among the members of all other religions.

Mens Spirituality: Total Liberation - No Place for Gender

We face many challenges on the path to liberation. We also have an ego to deal with. I am often asked: "Are these challengers different for men and for women? Or is the path fundamentally the same for both sexes? Shouldn't there be different paths?"

Assuming that the goal is enlightenment, there is only one path. Of course, there are fundamental differences between men and women and, if we want to be free, these traits need to be acknowledged and deeply understood.

Mens Spirituality: Encyclopedia II - Gift of Men - Avoidance of the Gift of Men

The shadow of the first Dark Lord brought with it a perversion of the original intent of the Gift of Iluvatar, and brought fear out of hope, and tainted the Gift. Men began to fear and despise the gift, and began to view it not as liberation, but as damnation. It brought about in the race of Men a kind of self-loathing, and a denial of the basic nature of their being as the children of the All-Father Eru Iluvatar. Instead they viewed themselves as flawed in some way and sought to resist this very intrinsic nature of their creation. The result of such actions brought about much anguish on t ...

Mens Spirituality: Encyclopedia II - Pro-feminism - Pro-feminism compared to feminism

Many feminists and pro-feminists believe that it is inappropriate for men to call themselves "feminists". In Unknown But Known: My Adventure Into The Meditative Dimension (1969) by Arthur Ford, he describes seances he conducted for several different groups of people. ...
