Mayan Calendar - 2012 and The Mayan Calendar

The Mayan Calendar - The Mayan Prophecy for 2012

The Mayan Calendar

The Mayan Calendar is something profoundly different than just a system to mark off the passage of time. The Mayan Calendar is above all a prophetic calendar that may help us understand the past and foresee the future. It is a calendar of the Ages that describes how the progression of Heavens and Underworlds condition the human consciousness and thus the frames for our thoughts and actions within a given Age.

The Mayan Calendar is not predicting the end of the world 2012, but the start of a new era.

The Mayan Calendar

About the Mayas

The Mayas were Central American Indians whose great civilisation was destroyed by the Spanish.

They lived in an area which includes parts of modern-day Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras and southern Mexico.

The Mayan civilisation was far advanced in some fields, notably astronomy, architecture, sculpture and heiroglyphic writing. They also had a sophisticated calendar that is called the Mayan Calendar.

What is so special about the Mayan Calendar?

The person with no previous exposure to the Mayan Calendar will usually initially be surprised by the fact that some people today take such an interest in an ancient calendar. After all, human history has seen a high number of different calendars. Is not then the Mayan calendar just a very specialized subject of interest only to specialists or history buffs? “Why would the world today need another calendar than the Gregorian or Muslim that are currently in use, and why should this be the Mayan calendar?” some may ask.

Well, to begin with most people probably have a much too limited view of the importance of the Mayan civilization, and Native American traditions generally. In fact, at their height in the 5th to 9th centuries AD, the Mayan cities would be among the largest in the world and developed the most advanced mathematics and astronomy of their day. And so, even if the Native American civilizations hardly survived the later contact with the Europeans they were and are the carriers of a significant and irreplaceable part of the global human consciousness.

When we talk about the Mayan Calendar something profoundly different is also meant than just a system to mark off the passage of time. The Mayan Calendar is above all a prophetic calendar that may help us understand the past and foresee the future. It is a calendar of the Ages that describes how the progression of Heavens and Underworlds condition the human consciousness and thus the frames for our thoughts and actions within a given Age. The Mayan Calendar provides an exact schedule for the Cosmic Plan and the unfolding of all things that come into existence. There is now ample empirical evidence for this, something that shines new light on the age old questions of mankind. Things do exist for a reason. The reason is that they fit into the divine cosmic plan. For those that seriously engage in a study of the Mayan Calendar this soon becomes evident and the former materialist world view loses all relevance. The Mayan Calendar is a gateway to the worlds of consciousness which the majority of humanity has been blinded to through the use of false or delusory calendars.

Since everything that exists is an aspect of consciousness, and the Mayan Calendar describes the evolution of consciousness in all of its aspects, no stone is left unturned for the serious student of the Mayan Calendar. All of science is affected, all of religion is affected, all of life is affected. We are here for a reason. Time is no longer equated with money, but with spirit. Time is inspiration!

The Mayan Calendar Comes North 01 - Ian Xel Lungold

This 3 hour DVD is a presentation based on Dr. Calleman's break thru discoveries of the structure of the Mayan Calendar as it relates to the Evolution of Consciousness. "Ian takes a complex subject such as the Mayan Calendar and makes it very easy to understand on a personal level." He also clearly points out how the Schedule of Creation can be tracked when one looks at past historical events and relates that information to what to expect in the near future leading up to 2012. This 3 hour DVD also includes questions from the audience and is the fastest way to get up to speed on the topic of the Mayan Calendar. (2parts)

Mayan Calendar - 2012 and The Mayan Calendar: : Mayan calendar and humanity’s path towards Enlightenment
In this article Carl Johan Calleman predicts a unification of the modern expressions of some of the most advanced ancient traditions of the West and the East; the Mayan and the Vedic. In this unification it seems that it is the West, the Maya and some other Native American peoples, that is providing the calendrical knowledge about the cosmic plan, while it is the East, the Vedic and Buddhist traditions that is carrying the time-less wisdom of the Self. The practical unification of these thought systems and traditions is then brought about by all those that are taking a path towards Enlightenment And according to the Mayan calendar, the time for this is now.

Mayan Calendar - 2012 and The Mayan Calendar: New Age Spirituality Dictionary on Queztalcoatl

Queztalcoatl

(Aztec - "feathered-serpent")

An Aztec god of the air or a sun-god and a benefactor of their race who instructed them in the use of agriculture, metals and the like.

According to one account, Quetzalcoatl was driven from the country by a superior god and on reaching the shores of the Mexican Gulf promised his followers that he would return. He then embarked on his magic skiff for the land of Tlapallan.

The Great Bird-Serpent is the most powerful figure in Mexican mythology, and it was known and accepted as a god in ancient Mexico and Central America. Accordingly, he dominated the great early American civilizations, from the land of the Incas in South America, to the Pueblo Indians of the our southwestern desert; from Teotihuacan (Mexico City) on the high plateau to Chichen Itza in Yucatan, he is a prevailing motif on ancient monuments.

Sometimes with his jaws open, bifid tongue, and articulated spinal column, he is easily recognizable. At others, he seems to have been coded in an almost infinite variety of formalized patterns derived from his famous scales, or feathers.

To the ancients, Quetzalcoatl became the force for understanding the universe, as it was known before the introduction of modern religion by the Conquistadors of Spain. The god Quetzalcoatl represented, to the ancient peoples of Central and South America, the very essence of life.

Mayan Calendar - 2012 and The Mayan Calendar: Mysticism Magick Dictionary on MAYAN CALENDAR

MAYAN CALENDAR

The Mayan year, beginning always on July 26, called a tun consisting of 360 days (called kin ) and 5 or 6 epagomenals called Vayeb , weeks, called Uinals , are 13 kin long and numbered perpetually over a span of 20 days, named as follows: Imix, Ik, Akbal, Kan, Chicchan, Cimi, Manik, Lamat, Muluc, Oc, Chuen, Eb, Ben, Ix, Men, Cib, Caban, Edznab, Cauac, Ahau. The months, which are 20 days long, but numbered from 0 to 19 are as follows: Pop, Yax, Vo, Zac, Zip, Ceh, Zotz, Mac, Xec, Kankin, Xul, Muan, Yaxkin, Pax, Mol, Kayab, Ch'en, Cumku. . . and the Vayeb intercalaries.

Time is reckoned in units of 20. Thus 20 tun make a katun, 20 katun make a baktun, 20 baktun make a pictun, 20 pictun make a calabtun, 20 calabtun make a kinchiltun, and 20 kinchiltun make an Alautun, which latter amounts to 163,040,000 years.

The present cycle began in the year 3113 B.C. and ending in 2012 A.D., is the final part of a 26,000 year cycle (a zodiacal age), and (according to José Argüelles) June 20, 1986 was "10 Ben, 9 Kayeb, 12.18.14.18.9" meaning baktun 12, katun 18, year 14, vinal 18, day 9 and kin 1862599 (number of days elapsed from the initiation point of the Great Cycle)."

The "Harmonic Convergence" of 1987 was the beginning of the end of the last five years of the Hell cycle. 1992 is the beginning of the final 20-year countdown to the completion of the 26,000 year galactic cycle. (The time it takes the sun to circle the Pleiades). One of the stars in the Pleiades is called "Maya."

Mayan Calendar - 2012 and The Mayan Calendar: : Sacred Geometry and the Mayan Calendar

Mayan Calendar Researcher Ian Xel Lungold explains the connection between the Mayan Calendar and Sacred Geometry. One essential point is the pattern displayed by the Mayan calendar. It is built upon a particular ratio, 13 : 20. These proportions are the true basis of all sacred geometry. In his study of sacred geometry, he found that all forms and understandings boil down to one ratio: one-third to two-thirds. This is in no way an exact number system, but a general pattern that Creation naturally follows. Our consciousness is based on this ratio.

Mayan Calendar - 2012 and The Mayan Calendar: Mayan Calendar and the Cycles of the Goddess

Humanity’s path towards retrieving the Mayan calendar system really started with the Harmonic Convergence, August 16-17, 1987, when large numbers of people in the West turned out for a spiritual celebration. Although, it was not recognized at the time, this celebration had the distinction of falling on the first two days of a traditional Mayan tzolkin (260-day) round.

Mayan Calendar - 2012 and The Mayan Calendar: The Pyramid of Consciousness

According to ancient Mayan beliefs the Cosmos was made up by Nine Underworlds. This fundamental idea was expressed very powerfully through their most important pyramids, the Pyramid of the Plumed Serpent in Chichen-Itza, the Pyramid of the Jaguar in Tikal and the Temple of the Inscriptions in Palenque, which were all built with Nine different stories.

Mayan Calendar - 2012 and The Mayan Calendar: What is driving the evolution of consciousness described by the Mayan Calendar? - II

How is the Mayan Long Count to be explained? Why did this ancient people, that were the most mathematically advanced of their day, choose to use a chronology that consisted of thirteen different periods of 144,000 days each, starting on August 11, 3114, BC and ending on December 21, AD 2012? On a more fundamental level three different types of answers have been given to this question, a materialist, a spiritual and what might be called a pseudo-spiritual, answers that are linked to different world views. In the materialist world view the astronomical, physical cycles are seen as primary to the spiritual whereas in the spiritual world view they are seen as secondary.

Mayan Calendar - 2012 and The Mayan Calendar: Mayan Calendar and The Dreamspell / Thirteen Moon calendar. What are the differences?

Today there seems to be two different calendar systems that are presenting themselves as Mayan alternatives to the Gregorian calendar. One of them is the so-called Dreamspell/Thirteen Moon calendar and the other is the traditional Mayan calendar system, which revolves around the Sacred Calendar that is still in use in certain parts of Guatemala. As we are approaching the Oneness Celebration and the ensuing Return of the Calendar of Quetzalcoatl it is becoming all the more important to discuss the differences between these two calendars.
