Along the periphery of the mare are several bay-shaped features that have been given names. Mare Tranquillitatis - Sinus Amoris. The "Bay of Love" extends northward from the northeast end of the Mare Tranquillitatis. It is located at selenographic coordinates 18.1° N, 39.1° E, and lies within a diameter of 130 km.
