Maharet and Mekare

Akasha is the name of the title character in Anne Rice's novel The Queen of the Damned. In Rice's fictional vampire universe, Akasha is the very first vampire created. As told in the novel, Akasha was originally a Queen in Kemet, she and her King Enkil wanted their people to turn away from their cannibalistic ways.
