| ARTICLES RELATED TO Love | | | | Love: Gayatri - Mother Of All Mantras
Prayer is common to all religions. Love for God is universal, the mode or method of prayer could be different since everyone is free to pray to the divine power in their own way. Prayer should be acceptable to all, simple and easy to adopt in daily life. Generally, people follow the path of prayer practised in the family. The Gayatri Mantra and any other prayer should be recited with sincerity and for the love of God. Only then its true benefit can be derived.

| | | | Love: Selfhisness
is a good thing I have often heard people express a desire to become more sensitive and
compassionate, while confessing that they probably loved themselves too much to
succeed in that ambition. In all the cases I have observed, the problem was
exactly the reverse. It is because we do not love ourselves enough that our
relationships become problematic. Compassion and sensitivity to others are
direct by-products of self-love.

| | | | | | | Love: Rooting for Ahimsa In Troubled Times
Now more than ever, we require those qualities that Mahatma Gandhi so remarkably embodied - qualities which are crystallised in the philosophy of ahimsa or non-violence that he bequeathed to us: Optimism, activism, love for people, and a holistic, embracing vision. "I remain an optimist," he said, "not because I give evidence that right is going to prosper, but because of my unflinching faith that right must prosper in the end." For Gandhi, at the deepest level of the human spirit, non-violence is never defeated. Violence, in contrast, inevitably ends in defeat.

| | | | Love: Look for the Mandir That's Within You
Osho often pointed out that no church or temple built by man can be greater than man. And man-made churches and temples are so small and insignificant there isn't enough room for God! A temple built by someone whose mind is not a temple itself is of no use.

| | | | Love: Explode Spiritual Bomb of Compassion
For Gandhi, non-violence meant an overflowing love for all humanity, a way of life that emanated from the very marrow of his being. But for many of his followers, non-violence was simply a political strategy, a tactic for winning India's independence from Britain. The more earnestly Gandhi pursued his religious beliefs, the deeper his love for humanity grew. This love made it all the more impossible for him to ignore the political realities that shaped people's lives. At the same time, contact with these political realities strengthened his conviction that nothing is more essential than the love for humanity that religious faith can inspire. He walked the middle way.

| | | | Love: Do Good Naturally, Not Out of Duty
As a teenager I always carried some cotton, antiseptic and a bandage in my pocket. After all, someone could get hurt. One day, I was in a bus. A fellow passenger got hurt. Here was my chance to become a hero, I thought excitedly. Out came my kit. I applied some antiseptic on her bruise and bandaged it. Another passenger looked at me and said: "Do you know, you have caused this bruise - indirectly." I was taken aback. He continued: "You waited for someone to fall and get hurt so that you could use your medical kit." My take on nishkaama karma, selfless action, had failed.

| | | | Love: Why I Love to Fast During Ramzan
Every year, I eagerly await the month of Ramzan. Fasting and praying during the month prepares me to move closer to God. Fasting is not restricted to food and drink; it includes distancing oneself from negative attributes like hypocrisy, covetousness, falsity, backbiting and envy, among others. Surprisingly and fortunately, the after-effects of this regulated and sanitised lifestyle adopted during Ramzan lingers for several months afterward, enabling one to work towards greater control over one's actions.

Theosophy Dictionary on Agapae
Agapae (Greek) (plural of agape brotherly love, loving kindness, charity) Love feasts; not only the love for God, but the love of Christians for each other as being members of a divinely inspired communion. The agapae were meetings for prayer, song, reading, exhortation, exchange of news, and ended with the brotherly kiss. With the lapse into worldliness, abuses crept into these love-feasts, which in time became so notorious that they were finally abolished.

Serve, Love, Meditate, Realize - The Inner Teachings of Yoga The word "yoga" often brings to mind a classroom of students
attired in exercise clothing attempting to stretch their bodies into different
postures. A more traditional yoga class will even include instruction in
breathing techniques, concentration, meditation, and positive thinking. In the
media today, yoga is often associated with health benefits such as stress
reduction, lower blood pressure, and an overall decrease in illness and
hospitalization rates. This is the Western idea of yoga. If we look to the
Eastern approach, where yoga is a part of the great Hindu and Buddhist
traditions, we find that yoga is all of these things but much, much more as
well.

| | | | | Love: What You Give, You Get From Life
"Every action has an equal and opposite reaction," declared Isaac Newton in the 1700s. "Garbage in, garbage out," say geeks. Sow a seed, reap a fruit. Plant a chilli, you get chillies back. Plant a mango, you get mangoes back. But how is it that sometimes people sow chillies but get mangoes and others sow mangoes, but get chillies? There's no inconsistency in this; the chillies are simply fruits of some earlier actions or decisions and the mangoes are yet to come.

| | | | Love: A Salubrious Stage For Krishna - Vraja Vrindavan
The sage, Narad, visiting Krishna in Dwaraka, was surprised to find that his Lord’s favourite pastime was to hear the story of Vraja-Vrindavan , its people and His own activities there. It is a story set in a particular time and space - however, its nature cannot be bound by time and space. The beauty of Vrindavan lies in it being both the seed and the fullest manifestation of the tree contained in that seed. The theme of all the stories of this lila is only one, and that is prem , love.

| | | | Love: Situation Vacant - Saviour Wanted
India needs rejuvenation. This rejuvenation will come only with the revival of our great Indian ideals. India needs shakti. For this, extensive re-building needs to be initiated for the country to acquire physical, mental and spiritual strength. For creating this stupendous energy, India needs a new spiritual awakening. A new direction. The inspiration for such an awakening could come from a prophet of peace, for instance, someone like Guru Nanak, who proclaimed: "Love the saints of every faith, Put away the pride! The essence of religion is Humility, service, and sympathy. Not fine clothes, Not the yogi'sgarb and ashes, Not the blowing of horn, Not the shaven head, Not long prayers...".

over assuming illnesses or conditions from their clients, especially when they
truly felt that their intentions were of loving service to another. Why would a
healer or anyone become ill through healing others?
