| ARTICLES RELATED TO Love | | | | | | | | | | | Love: Love is the Essence of Evolution
Love is the essence of religion too, for it is religion (not organised religion) that teaches ethics and compassion. The story goes that once the Devil and his close friend went for a walk. The devil picked up something from the ground and put it in his pocket. When he was asked by his friend what he had picked up, he said: "I have picked up the Truth". The friend said: "If you picked up the Truth, then your time is up because Truth is the opposite of what you symbolise". The devil smiled and said, "Don't worry my friend, I will organise it". You know what I mean?

| | | | Love: The Fine Art of Staying in Love
A happy relationship is a universal ideal. Yet, few among us can claim to have perfect relationships. Worldwide, divorce rates are going up. Even most couples who do stay together for a considerable length of time allow their relationship to turn mechanical - there is little room for romance, intimacy or joy. Such couples end up transforming a beautiful partnership into a mere social institution, no more than a familial commitment empty of true love.

| | | | Love: Immortal Love is Within Reach
What is the purpose of life? What do we want? Some say the purpose of life is to ensure that one doesn't come back to this planet - because it is bereft of love. When love is there, it is painful. By taking a multilateral view of life, one can begin to see the purpose of life from all angles. Then we come to realise that we want a love that doesn't die out, a love that doesn't cause pain, a love that grows and stands forever.

| | | | Love: True Love Uplifts The Human Spirit
It is now fashionable to ask: Why do we say "falling" in love and not "rising" in love? We "fall" in love because to love implies total surrender. Unless we surrender our ego to the object of our love, we cannot realise the power and expanse of love. There are two basic emotions which drive this world: love and hate. All relationships are affected in some way or other by these, and so they can either help sustain or destroy the universe in which we interact with one another and the environment.

| | | | Love: The Subject
is Love - about the lower chakrasChakras: The Subject is Love
How does love, springing
from a divine source, become misguided in so many ways? How did we fall into
such animalistic forms of love? Some understanding of our subtle anatomy is
necessary at this point. We are all engaged in five types of work in our life, corresponding
to our five lowest centers (chakras): maintaining our physical survival (first
chakra - money), ensuring the continuation of the human race (second chakra -
sex), providing fuel for the physical vehicle (third chakra - food), developing
our emotional life (fourth chakra - heart), acquiring a set of philosophical
and religious principles to guide our life (fifth chakra - throat). These 5
lower chakras constitute the kingdom of delusion, illusion and error.

| | | | | Love: A Fervent Plea for Compassion and Love
Contentment is within reach for a person who is compassionate and loving. The greedy, however, remain unsatisfied as they are constantly looking for bigger and better ways to fulfil their desires. At which point will they be satisfied - when they get a bigger house, a better car, higher designation? To overcome this vicious circle, we need to replace lower thoughts with noble ones. A greedy person pays no attention to the quality of his words and deeds. Always fixing his gaze on the future, trying to figure out how to do this or that, he will spend his whole life planning, calculating, and dreaming. Unable to be in the present and enjoy what is right in front of him, he cannot relish even his food, because while he is eating lunch he is planning his supper.

| | | | Love: Bob's Theory of Relativity of LoveIn
this article, I'd like to present a few ideas about Love and what Love means to
me. It is not meant to be a definition of Love--I don't think Love can be
defined, only described. This article is not an essay on what Love
"should" or "should not" be. I'm not sure there are any
"shoulds" when speaking about Love. The ideas in this article are
only my opinions. I'm also sure that none of the ideas in this article are new
or original because Love has been around longer than I have.
I'd
like to explain a thing I call "Bob's Theory of Relativity." Stated
simply, it says that everything Einstein said about light also applies to Love.

| | | | Love: Sufi Path of Love - Fragrant and Fresh
Sufis tend to remain hidden in a mysterious world, revealing themselves only to chosen seekers of truth - who are receptive and devoted. This has been their way for thousands of years. They pray to God in the middle of night, in its deep silence when the world sleeps, as they don't want to make an exhibition of their prayer. Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita: "The meditator meditates alone in the deep night when everybody in the world is sleeping". And Sufis do the same.

| | | | Love: The Four Paths of Hindu YogaThe four main
spiritual paths for God-realisation are Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga and
Jnana Yoga. Karma Yoga is suitable for a man of active temperament, Bhakti Yoga
for a man of devotional temperament, Raja Yoga for a man of mystic temperament,
and Jnana Yoga for a man of rational and philosophical temperament, or a man of
enquiry.
Mantra Yoga,
Laya Yoga or Kundalini Yoga, Lambika Yoga and Hatha Yoga, are other Yogas. Yoga,
really, means union
with God. The practice
of Yoga leads to communion with the Lord. Whatever may be the starting point,
the end reached is the same.

| | | | Love: Addictive Love RelationshipsThere
are two fascinating qualities that can enter into our lives or the lives of
those we care for at any moment: love and addiction. At first these two may
appear to be strange bedfellows: love evokes pleasurable images of couples
passionately embracing or tenderly gazing into each others' eyes, while
addiction brings up a darker, grim, even desperate image of people struggling
against a part of themselves that is out of control. Yet at their core, both
have in common a profound spiritual yearning, the desire to transcend the self,
to experience powerful states of bliss and ecstasy and to merge with and feel a
part of something greater than oneself.

| | | | Love: The Left Hand Path of
Love - TantraThe mysterious
Tradition
of Tantra
This article attempts
to outline, in an extremely general way, some basic ideas of the Tantric
tradition. Even though the author has a rich personal experience in some of the
practical aspects of TANTRISM, the intention here is not to expose a personal
view, but to present the Tradition in its most pure form, without any kind of
"western interpretations" that most of the time kill and destroy the
authentic meaning. This is done with the sincere intention to revive, mostly
from the practical point of view, this lost Tradition and to reveal the true
face of TANTRA Science.

| | | | Love: Way of Peace: Love As Antidote to War
More than 50 years ago, Mahatma Gandhi offered a startling truth: "There is no way to peace. Peace is the way." To a country bogged down in the morass of war, this could be a beacon of hope. Gandhi went further to show that the way of peace ends suffering and oppression, not by warring against an enemy but by bearing witness to wrongs and allowing sympathy and common humanity to do their patient work. Nelson Mandela and Mother Teresa lived different aspects of peace, which was proven to be a viable way to achieve great things.
